Who is thinking about purchasing a new 2018 (or whatever year the engine changes)

It depends on the engine they put in.
This engine has tons of power potential as we have seen. Most already established parts just modified to fit the sling.
If it is an unproven or new motor with nothing already available, then it could become an adventure.

I have my stock motor in the shop and am planning on building another SS with a ground up plan in advance if I can get a used SS at a really good price.

Guess time will tell

Gonna probably get slammed for this but with the changes I wouldn't buy a '17 either ........

depends on what other changes are made. Drivetrain is not what I'm worried about.

Not a chance, but I am looking forward to hearing all of the "now why the HELL would they put that there" comments. Now, if someone wants to get one and leave it here to be disassembled, I'd gladly put in the time...

i don't think i could put my self through all the mods again and they would have to show me an 2018 in white. until then, and obviously depending on motor

I'm wondering when the redesign takes place...

I am actually probably not going to change anytime soon. I am keeping my ear to the ground for the Sondors Electric car that happens to have 3 wheels...and when the market brings the price down on the Vanderhall I might get one of those. I have a weird affinity to 3 wheeled vehicles. I want a small stable of them. lol

The flip side of that argument is that (especially given their engineering prowess so far), you don't he any idea how well that power plant will run or how easy it will be to work on. Lots of risk - and reward! - there, and lots of frustration.

I'm more of a looks guy..been there done that with toys & motors where I learned it's nice to accelerate & have power, but never really use it... each there own. I'm about physical appearance. The thing also I learned (And I'm guilty) you always loose $! It's like everything new models = start over , loose money & spend more. Unless something really Dramatic happens, I'm sticking with my '16. Selling it and starting over would be like beach sand in my vasoline.

But on another note... if you have the cash, no kids etc... go for it

The large aftermarket modification industry is both a blessing and a curse. We get to pimp our rides with all kinds of expensive goodies BUT when you want to upgrade to a newer model you'll probably only see less than half the cost of those mods on resale and even less on trade.
