2017+ Air Filter replacement > What is a Polaris Slingshot?
-
Belt Adjustment > What is a Polaris Slingshot?
-
Polaris recommends using their Belt Tension Meter (part # PV-43532) but some people just eyeball it. The maintenance manual specifies the belt should be 10mm deflection with 10 lbs of force.

Break-In Period and Procedures > What is a Polaris Slingshot?
-
The break-in period for your vehicle is the first 500 miles (800 km) of operation. During this break-in period, critical engine parts require special wear-in procedures so they seat and mate properly. Read, understand and follow all break-in procedures to ensure the long-term performance and durability of your engine.
ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN BREAK-IN
1. Fill the fuel tank with gasoline. Heed the fuel warnings
a. Use only unleaded gasoline with a 91 pump octane minimum and a maximum ethanol content of 10%.
DO NOT USE E-85 GASOLINE OR GASOLINE CONTAINING METHANOL
2. Check the oil level. Add the recommended oil as needed to maintain the oil level between the safe and add marks.
3. Vary speed. Do not drive at a constant speed, whether fast or slow. Do not drive at sustained idle.
4. Avoid full-throttle starts and do not drive at full throttle.
5. Do not exceed 70 MPH (113km/h).
6. Avoid the use of downshifting to brake or slow the vehicle.
7. Avoid making hard stops for the first 200 miles (322km).
8. Perform regular checks on fluid levels, controls and areas outlined on the daily pre-ride inspection checklist. See page 47 of the owners manual.
9. Change both the engine oil and filter at 500 miles (800km).

Clicking in the Rear - Drive Shaft / U-Joint > What is a Polaris Slingshot?
-
If you hear clicking in the rear end when letting out the clutch, it's possible that it's not angle drive related, but u-joint.
Inspect and grease the u-joint's on the drive shaft. There should be no movement of the u-joint against the bearing caps.
From the service manual:
"Using gloves, grasp the prop shaft close to a u-joint yoke and check for movement against each of the bearing caps. If any movement is detected, the u-join should be replaced."
The same goes for the slip yoke and the CV bearings on the drive shaft near the transmission.
