With the installed position of the Slingshot battery being inaccessible without removing a panel, there is an alternative method we've used with success.
The alternator's positive post is readily accessible under the hood. Pop off the red rubber boot, and attach your charger's positive lead to it. Do be careful to position it in such a fashion that it cannot also contact any surrounding metal parts. Connect the ground to a clean, unpainted ground point: the front left hood latch is a decent choice.
There is one caveat to this method: only use it to charge battery. Do not attempt to "boost" the machine for starting using this method, as the considerable starter current can overcome the fusible lead between alternator and starter.
Hope you find this helpful
A tip for charging Slingshot battery

Great reminder... Yep, sure comes in handy and I am sure to share the info often when people question my under hood battery terminals. Yeah I could just us the alternator lead... but I use a battery tender daily and this is easier. I only ever installed a positive terminal and ran it directly to the battery. I made a ground easily accessible.

I thought you could use the ACC plug between the seats to charge the battery? Is this not the case?
-
I keep my battery tender plugged in at the acc receptical between the seats. It works perfectly.

That can be used with a tender equipped with the appropriate plug for doing so. The above advice is, I believe, intended for the use of a standard charger which would charge the battery much quicker if it was dead.

Yes, it is the case as well. Also a good tip...although a severely discharged battery may overcome the ACC plug's amperage intention, which is understandably low.

I just used the plug between the seats like many others and I have a 2015 in the battery has never faltered. I trickle charge through this connection from December through April with no issues.

Keep in mind you are running current from one end of the SS to the other past the gas tank..and other stuff.. the best method is to have the battery tender short plug hooked directly to the battery. Shortest distance between two points is a straight line.
My tender tail sticks out from under the battery cover and is readily available to get at.

All I can say is this will be my fifth year with no issues. I'm sure not going to lose sleep over it

Don’t be this guy

I ran my connector through a hole ( I made) into the storage compartment behind the driver seat. I never liked the dangling wire on the back as installed by my dealer.

I don't see a problem. The large main cable from the battery to the starter readily carries 150-200 amps during starting. It's not going to become of concern with a few charging amps flowing through it from a charger, especially as it readily carries that load and often much more during vehicle operation as the battery is charged by the alternator.

Bill, let me introduce you to Bigdog. He's one of those guys who walks past a park bench and sees a Wet Paint sign and has to touch the bench to make sure. He also doesn't ride his slingshot since the engine only has so many miles of life and doesn't want it to end prematurely

Don't be a Bigdog .
The pic he posted was more than likely one of the machines that lead to the fuel line recall.
It is/was. This is the one of the first, happened in NorCal.

Keep in mind if your SS burst into flame, insurance will buy you a new one and if it burst into flame, you needed a new one.

Battery tenders and extra charging terminals are nice. This is more about a quick solution when needed for machines not so equipped, the occasional low or dead dead battery for whatever reason.
-
That's nice, but I just saved $35 and am going to continue using the plug between the seats.

I have actually jump started my sling off the alternator wire without issue. I hook up to the terminal and let the battery get a bit of a charge, about five minutes, then started the engine.
For keeping the battery charged I hook up my tender through the left turn signal circuit. This keeps the battery from getting to much charge at one time and causing premature battery wearing out. I still shift down without worrying about clutch wear, and I have no opinion on the pedal commander. Waiting for Bigdog 's comments.
