so far just normal stuff, DDM shocks & swaybar, brake pads and little things. May get serious this winter with major mods. Moving down to Martinsville area next month and going to build a large workshop with lift and vehicle storage. As soon as it is complete will start doing stupid stuff.

Also one of the originals, was DUANEINDY but changed to "Lostway" when I sold my first one ( later got a 2019 ). Was tired of waiting on Indiana to approve so I went to Owens in Illinois and bought one. They said if I wanted it painted they knew this great guy in Terra Haute. Road around with my old Goldwing plates till I called my son who worked as a programmer for the state. He said the slingshot was in the BMV system but had not been activated, he changed it and told me to wait 4 hours then go to BMV. Being a social outcast and a huge pain in the ass, I am not known by many on the forum. I am referred to as the Gray Haired Wonder as I make everything look good.

rode along 52 ohio river, then down 68 to paris, ky to see all the horse farms. Old garmin finally gave up the ghost so back home and setting up the new one now. Will take off to Jackson Ky tommorrow to run the back road then maybe WVa and NC. Got the whole week to ride so hard to tell where I will end up. Where ever its raining I will just head the opposite direction.

Ran the JRI on my first SS and then the DDM 3 way on the one I have now. After some education from Dave about the rear (set softer) focusing on ride comfort and the front (set mid to hard) on handling I was able to dial in the shocks just the way I needed. Daily driving I love the set up and when I get to the mountains just turn wheel all the way in on direction to easily access adjustment knobs to increase.

Too much time at hope has created way to much internet shopping. Allergies have kept me out of the slingshot (no mask), may be time to make my own so I can get some alone time. Love my wife but need to get away before she figures out how to take a life without getting caught.

Us old guys want manual trans as it put fun and experience into the drive. Three of the dealers that I talked to said the first question they are asked by potential customers is "can you get it with an automatic". I am guessing that an auto trans would double sales of the slingshot but may put a lot of scary drivers behind the wheel.

On my 2015 had to replace my uppers at 12,000 and then again at 30,000. If you jack up the sling and check they may feel tight, but if you raise up the A-arm to unload the pressure, I had a lot of movement. I acknowledge that I was a very abusive driver.

After putting a bunch of mods and miles on my 2015, was one of the first production runs, I now have 3000 miles on the 2019 and thought I review the major differences I have experienced.

    1. Quality of assembly, large improvement. On the 15 at least a third of the body screws was stripped, cross-threaded or cracked plastic. After disassembly on about half of the body panel I have only ran across one screw cross threaded. I was very excited about this as was expecting much worst.

    2. Shock valving better, not great. While still a little harsh over sharp cracks and bumps, it does have a better ride than the 15. Some of this made be related to number 3 below.

    3. Frame stiffness, large improvement. The old chassis would flex like crazy during rapid transitions and twice after hard mountain riding my Bullet Top frame would no longer line up with the mounting holes. The 19 stays flatter and has better control during hard corner transitions.

    4. Engine tuning. The 19 has more mid-range torque, dont know if this is the change from air box to the CAI design, but two others have also noticed the difference.

    5. Gear box whine much less. I am counting this one as just a production fluke as their is a lot of sound variation from one slingshot to another.

Overall I like the 19 better in large part because of the reduction in frame flex which gives me better corner control.
