To all you Yankees, how do you do it? With this cold weather in Texas it may be 5 days till I can ride my Slingshot. How do you survive?
HOW DO YOU DO IT?

Beer, whiskey, women and sitting in the slingshot making driving noises for about an hour every day just dreaming for spring!
-
When we first moved to the Houston, TX area back in 2009, I just bundled up if I rode in temps between around 45 to 60F, but I've gotten lazy over time and usually don't ride if the temps drop below 55F. Too much hassle getting dressed for the temps!

With a foot and a half of snow outside……..it’s a good time to accessorize!

Know how you feel James. Got the Turbo done - and now the SS is gonna sit for a while. Even got a 3 day weekend coming up - - - - and the HIGH is supposed to be below freezing! I moved down here to get away from the cold/rain/snow. Jeez.

Yes sitting waiting for spring socks. But it really makes one appreciate the riding season we do have.

Found these for ya’. You’re welcome!

While it may be a PITA you can totally be comfy riding in Texas winter. The following should have you toasty:
1. full face helmet
2. Alpine Stars balaklava, one that goes down into your jacket
3. heated jacket liner
4. heated gloves
5. For pants you should be fine with insulated overalls

Waiting on permanent work from home status which should be June/July - then looking to move to TX. Now if Elon and these other big companies would of waited till I was there it would of been nice. Homes I was looking at are all up 200k over what they were 4-5 months back now.

Living here in central TX just north of Austin we haven't noticed the home prices rise that much. The housing market is hot now and has been for over a year. If you can, stay the hell out of Austin and Travis county, Taxes, more taxes and really stupid city council. There is plenty of room to grow around here since we don't have those beautiful mountains you do. Good luck.

Austin area + on the water = $$$
Bitcoin needs to hit six figures before June/July lol
-
Austin is a liberal mecca anyways - it’s the Portland of Texas...

LOL, good answers. I live in SE Tennessee now but for the first 50 yrs of my life I lived in the great white north about 2 hrs from the Canadian border. It's damn tough to get through the winter sometimes. I remember getting my MC out on a beautiful and warm day in April when the roads were dry and then the next day I'm looking at 18 inches of snow. THAT! is damn depressing but if you're born into it you understand. Now that I'm in Tennessee and two days ago it was 73 and I got the SS out for a short ride. I'm staying in the south for sure.

That's why I moved down to Austin Texas (further south than San Diego). But yet I am STILL in the F'N cold here. HIGH of 30 today and everything is covered in a 1/2" of solid ice. I took the Turbo out for a quick 5 min run on Tuesday at 75 degrees just to make sure everything was working and now it's parked.
