That location for the supercharger oil reservoir and filter is a newer change, I think we have been shipping like that for just a couple months now. It makes the oil changes and filter changes much easier and also the trimming of the black plastic shroud around the fan found in the 2016.5-2019 is no longer needed.

speaking of oil and filter changes on the Rotrex, do you have instructions for the best way to do that?

I believe the oil needs changing every 2 years so that means I’ll be doing that at the end of the riding season this year.

To each his own for sure. I like to look over it because I like to feel the wind but also I get a lot of bugs here so a ride would require many stops to clean the windshield just to be able to see decent. The stock shield does a good job of either catching them or sending them up and over my head. I would wear eye protection regardless of windshield.

I’ve ridden with no windshield and I didn’t like it. I don’t wear a helmet either, full or half. That short shield setup looks cool but don’t know I could pull it off.

I tried using some cardboard and it seems like +3 would be too tall. I guess I’ll just live with that I got until I feel like I want to buy a new shield and cut it down, which I’d hate to do.

I too over think just about everything. I’ll try cardboard. If it seems like it will work then I’ll order one, I believe I can return it if it doesn’t workout.

So I’m looking at windshields now. I’ve been happy with the stock shield until I got velocity sport seats. These seats sit just a bit higher than the originals and now get a lot more buffeting around my head.

I’m looking at the F4 +3 as it says you still look over it. I’m 5’ 9’’. Can anyone share their experiences with this, do you still look over the +3?

I know the madstad adjustable would be a good option too but I just don’t like the looks.

Got some new wheels and tires last weekend. Forgestar wheels, 18x8.5 front and 20x11 rear with Toyo tires. Got a chance tonight to get a good test drive in. Huge improvement in traction from the stock wheel and a Nitto 555 but....with the supercharger and smaller pulley the new tire still doesn’t stand a chance when you really push it. Cornering traction seems better too. Very happy with the purchase.

Decided to jump on the Polaris clearance sale and grab some velocity sport seats. I was toying with getting covers for my original 2015 SL seats but couldn’t decide on style/color and knew I’d end up with just some form of black anyway. Ordered these on Monday for only a little more than what PRP seat covers cost and they were delivered today. Helps that I live only 20min from their warehouse in MN. So far I really like them, I like the side bolsters a lot more on these new ones and the headrest is far better too and I love the all black color. Will get out this weekend to get some new seat time.

LOVE IT! Picked up my 2015 December 20, 2014. I have 78,000+ on her now. Always seemed to have enough power to pass traffic if I down shifted into 3rd and nailed it. But I always wanted alittle more power. I finally bit the bullet and ordered this supercharger in November 2020. The install went fairly easily. I only had help to remove the hood. Then I was on my own. I did the install over several weeks 3 or 4 hours at a time. I'm 73 so took my time since it was winter in Maine. But I think the install could be easily done over a weekend for younger guys. The hardest part of installing is the close clearances for wrenching. In all it probably took a total of 20 hours since I made a few senior moment booboos. First few rides were short, less than 100 miles due to weather. I took it easy and checked for loose fittings and oil leaks, non found. With 300 miles on her, I went for a 150 mile ride today, 3/21/21. Did I mention I love the "POWER". Took me along time to pull the trigger but when faced with the choice of buying a new machine for 25k+ with trade-in and not much power gain or spend 5k for more power, I know I made the right choice. This thing is a ROCKET SHIP now and that's with the 110 pulley. Forgot to add. I was at a light and in the left non merging lane. A supped up truck pulled next to me. I knew he was going to try and beat me to the merge. We both hit it. Truck gave up. All wife had to say was "how old are you!" I smiled.

I have to agree with everything you wrote! I did my SC install a year ago, so glad I did. It’s so much more fun to drive! And installing it was fun too. I put 5k miles on it last summer, more than any of the previous 4 summers (MN not the longest riding season). Not a single issue with the SC so far. I upgraded to the 100mm pulley this winter, I’ve got maybe 200mi on the new pulley and it’s even better than before. Lots of power and it runs so smooth. Before you know it you’ll want that smaller pulley.

Dont want to get rid of my seats now that i have covers on em & heated elements underneath em......they are perfect for me just the way they are .......but ive been wanting these now since 2017

do you have the PRP seat covers from Slingmods? Was looking at them but wasn’t sure of the quality based on some of the reviews. I want to do mostly black covers, I never really liked the red on the original stock SL seats

That’s a good point BKL and that is my concern with going with larger front wheels (both taller and wider), more wear and tear on the steering components. I’m sure offset would have some affect as well, but I’m far from an expert.

A 305 or 315 tire will probably be cheaper than a 345. Generally speaking, 17-20" wheels in widths maxing out around 305-315 will generally be cheaper than tires falling outside that range.

As far as finding matching front and rear wheel with the correct or close offsets, you're right in that it is a complete PITA! I found a 10th Anniversary Cobra style 17x10.5, Mustang rear wheel from American Muscle that fits a Nitto 555 G2 315/35ZR17 that is dimensionally similar to my stock rear (with the exception that its Offset is 28mm, centering the wheel about 1.5" to the left of the stock wheel) and that I feel looks similar to my stock 2015 Base wheels, but most of the time it seems I find a rear wheel in a size I like, but the front wheels are wider than I'd prefer to use.

Since the stock front wheel offset is 42mm, you should be able to use any Offset that doesn't exceed 42mm. Keep in mind though, that some oweners run 3 rear wheels, meaning an offset up to 45mm will fit.

thanks, I do remember now reading some folks running the stock rear on the front, good to know. I agree on the front wheels being too wide, I don’t want to go any wider than 8.5, ideally i would like it to be 7.5 like stock or 8.
