OMG, I wish that on no one!

I see the problem. The gear oil is really low...

And he said he was just making a normal turn.............

And he said he was just making a normal turn.............
Is drifting a turn with your foot on the floor considered 'normal'?
Asking for a friend...

Im curious to know , was this one boosted, had bigger wheels, etc etc etc ......why are so many pics turning up, especially on facebook of busted pinions WTF

Go figure.......first time he makes a normal turn and look what happens....

looks Like it needs more beef on the face plate......
-
that’s just nuts......
-
Is there anyway of finding out any info on this particular vehicle or does anyone know the owner.........im very curious as to why these are blowing up this way.......i might just leave my stock wheels on (got a new black set from a 2019 base model) ......
......inquiring minds wants to know.....
-
If you think about it, they always break where the drive shaft goes in. That tells me when the power is applied it continues to spin it try’s to spin when it’s trying to turn the rear wheel. If you are trying to burn rubber it’s stressing the housing. It either needs more beef on the housing or it needs to be steel not aluminum.
-
But are these stock machines, boosted, bigger wheels, etc.....All i know is im starting to see this failure in this spot and pics are being posted with no info, now i have the ZZ Performance Pinion brace on mines and for a brief moment had a piece of mind knowing that was one issue i wouldnt have to worry about........but now seeing this pic only gave me a false sense of security because now im like WTF........i consider myself an aggressively SAFE driver but now im like take it easy , you might be stranded 🤔

Looks really dry inside that case, JMHO.
-
The root cause? Polaris engineering department:
-
This area looks awful thin compared to the rest of the housing.
-
I too, have the ZZP Angle Drive Brace! I agree with @Bigog that the top of the housing looks pretty thin. I guess we can only hope that enough of them fail to warrant a recall!
-
It seems to me to be a very hit or miss thing to me - perhaps a production flaw that only happens every so often - - from what I have sen we have had angle drives on fairly stock units that have failed and at the other end of the spectrum we have angle drives in some very high HP applications that have held up under what many might call extreme abuse
At this point I am just glad I have an extended warranty that will take me out to 5/22 if by chance I got one of the ones that dont make it
