DID THEY JUST CLOSE THE DRAGON ?

Yep. Closed. I guess I'm missing something here as I don't know how this promotes public safety. They didn't close the roads that aren't as popular (and fun) so it feels to me like the politicians are just flexing their muscles and training the Sheeple.
I understand if they close the businesses where people congregate but couldn't the road stay open?

I think that the Dragon is in Tenn. so you would have to come in from the Tenn. side. You would not be able to come from Maggie/Waynesville on 74 to Hi-way 28. The whole Robbinsville area including 28 which runs to the Dragon is closed to local traffic only

'SHEEPLE' good one,
Yes how does going for a drive to combat boredom and keep the spirits up hurt anybody, I guess they figure people will still flock to the local retail businesses there , exposing them

they don’t want the first responders out there exposed when everyone crashes....

When we sacrifice our freedoms in the name of "safety", some politicians will spin the meaning to address their pet peeves that they couldn't act on any other way.

What is the old saying? If one is willing to sacrifice liberty for a little safety he will soon have neither! Yeah, I believe it.

I think it might be 'If one is willing to sacrifice liberty for a little safety, he deserves neither. It seems like I've seen that as a tagline here on the forum.

The Cherohaha Skyway is in Graham County
The Skyway is a National Parkway, so the They could close it.

The gov of NC signed a shelter at home order for the whole state. I believe it starts on Monday and is good for 30 days
-
I have not seen the order, I was told about it....
-
my county is under a similar order....the police have the right to question why you are out. If it’s not related to food, medicine or work....

I went through there week before last. The resort/store was closed, food was take out only but the road was open. We rode the Foothill parkway from Gatlinburg side (was still open) and came through the back side. Most of Robbinsville was pretty dead as was Helen where we were staying. On the NC side the dining rooms were all closed, take out only but on the GA side we ate at Huddle House every morning. Not sure if anything has changed in the last 10 days or so.

Talked to my Brother last night and he said that the restaurants were all closed to 'sit' down --- carry out only. He is in north Georgia.
