Where do you people get your tires changed to ensure the rims aren't damaged? I took mine to Tire Warehouse and when I came home later on I went to check the tire pressure and saw one of the spokes on the rear wheel was cracked all the way through. I really think they did it but they claim they did not and said they would refer it to the regional manager. But I don't think I'll see any money from it. I was not really upset because I wanted to have some custom wheels put on anyway which I just ordered the other day from RevDynamics. But my real concern is when it's time to change the tires on my new rims where do I get them changed without people screwing them up? VIP refused to do the change stating they had issues before with slingshot.

Every tire shop should be able to change an aluminum rim without damage.
That said next time I need tires changed I’m taking pictures of the rims when I pull in.

Discount Tires (known in some places as America's Tires, IIRC) was one of the first tire places to start handling the Polaris Slingshot. I have never had a bad experience with getting my tires mounted there. You can also order your tires from DiscountTireDirect.com and have them installed at Discount Tires.

Debating on removing the rear tire myself and taking tire/rim in to a place to get the work done.
Seems like one could just jack the rear end up to pull it?
Thoughts?

I get my tires shipped to me from discount tire direct and then I have them mounted by a little hole in the wall tire place that is right around the corner from my house - I like this particular shop because they are very small, both times I have gone there only one guy has been working and I have been able to go right into the shop area with him and watch as he does each tire. He seems to be truly thrilled when I come in and is very curious about the slingshot. First time I showed him all of the proper jacking points and and we talked for over an hour about the slingshot and how he had seen me go by almost every day.

That's the way I always handle it. That way I'm the only one messin with the lugs.

Discount Tire. Our local shop in Fayetteville AR came highly recommended by local slingshot owners.

Any tire shop that is in the know use a machine that grips the wheel on the outer edge of the rim. There should be zero pressure on the center or spoke area of the wheel. I seem to remember some other posters that had cracked spokes on their stock rims. You might want to see a dealer and see if they will open a ticket with Polaris.
Discount does all my tire work. Never had any issue with their work or prices. I do however carry my Slingshot wheels and tires in instead of having them jack and mount dismount them. Usually have the sling down for other work so it is easier for me.

Another thing I like about Discount Tire is they use a torque wrench for final tightening on each nut. Nothing like doing things right.

Thanks for all the replies. Next time I'll try Discount Tire. Not worried about having them Jack up the sling. But I just bought new lugs from slingmods.

I can't seem to find a discount tire store in my area. When I do a search for Discount Tire all I get is Don foshay's Discount Tire. Don't know if they popped up because they had Discount Tire in their name or if they are an actual Discount Tires store

I like Discount Tire as well, free flat fixes and rotations, I rotate my tires on my sling, as well as my other vehicles of course.

...............................one of the spokes on the rear wheel was cracked all the way through.
What year of SlingShot, where the wheels on the 2015 have a reputation of cracking?

If you look at our wheel design the spokes being all the way outside puts a lot of stress on them. Especially in turns and on rough road and acceleration. .
Just curious if it’s always front or rear wheels that have the cracked spokes...or if it happened after a recent tire mounting....

Not sure where you live, but try entering https://www.americastire.com/. In my case, it automatically redirected me to Discount Tire since they're in my area.

would you drive on this?
