My search is still ongoing. The underside of our hoods is ridiculous for trying to keep it clean. All the nooks and crannies are stupid hard to clean.
I just treated under my under hood and the front of the fender/mudflats. And my back rim and rear end protector and swing arm.
This stuff is supposed to repel dirt and water will just roll off.
Here are some before and after pictures.
Right side treated.
The entire hood done.
It only takes s tiny bit of water on the road to tide through to completely mess up under the hood.
I’m hoping this stuff will repel the dirt and water and make cleaning much easier.
Can you see how shiny it is under the hood?
I’ll let you know how it works.
The other stuff I’m using on the black plastic with UV protection seems to be doing pretty good keeping it clean and shiny.
Still evaluating.
Anyone ever try this stuff?
I know..... humor me...
That's only made for four wheeled vehicles. Hench the words CAR on the label. Does this humor you?
Be very careful using this stuff on your tires and wheels....it comes out purple and turns color when it’s done working....I accidentally got some on my fenders and didn’t get it washed off fast enough and it stained them. There are purplish white stains on them now.
It does a pretty good job on the wheels and tires but it’s deadly on plastic.
That said this stuff has UV protection and it shines the black plastic really nice. It even covers up the stains if you use enough. Real shiny .....makes the plastic look new.
So I just cleaned the SS with Lucas Slick Mist. I now seem to remember reading not to spray on the black hood panels...but...I spayed one of them anyway and now it’s stained. Is there any way to fix that?

I’m thinking the reason these things stain the plastic is because it’s actually eaten into the plastics surface. So now the plastic surface is damaged. I don’t think anything can repair the damage....the only thing left is to cover it up. Since the plastic is black...finding a product that is also black might be the answer.
This might sound funny but I wonder if black shoe polish would work?

Regular 'rubbing alcohol' --- little on a clean rag will clean off the wax and allow you to recoat the with a different product. Lots of different products that can be used, my choice is Turtle Wax Ice. Can be used on the black plastic and the painted.

Mother Back to Black is great to revive faded/wax ruined plastic.
Thanks for the suggestions guys!
A friend used an ammonia based cleaner on the black hood plastic and it left light bleach type marks.
He tried this stuff and it restored it perfectly. Carfidant.
He has been using it all summer.
I liked how it brought back the deep dark black look so, I changed to using this.
Previous products that I used on the Slingshot were:
303, Slick Mist (inspired by this thread), now Carfidant.
Just my opinion: Carfidant wins.
Garage is dark, product applied more than a week ago.
I’m almost scared to open this post back up,....
