Still playing around
I like the direction you were going I think the top one of that group is my favorite

I think they're all the same, just different shades/colors... The first two are showing the fin of the SS underneath, no? To assist with visualizing placement?

Exactly you got it

So it's good I liked the top one @MiM

I went down this path for quite some time until I ended up with what I made. I think if you raise it up off the deck surface, pull it back it, and mount it to the fin - it would look sweet!
As for downforce, the point of mine was to create "downforce" by reducing lift. Wonder why you can still smell exhaust when it is run out the back? Because of the turbulent air getting pulled back toward the cockpit from under the tail. I used a spoiler (not a wing) to capture air in front of it to create a pocket of air between it and the roll hoops. This allows the air to move freely over the top (kinda like the Sling Shade (sorry Cam)) but without having a top. This is why NASCAR uses them - not for downforce but to clean the air behind.
I still wanted to mount something to that damn tailfin though.

On the forum that shall not be named, @Jeff Welter posted something about the underground auto styling spoiler (similar to Tango's spoiler) helping with no fumes on a Welter Duals system with an f4+5 (but no top), so, yeah... @Tango is right on!
Now I need to save for that underground spoiler...

@Slingrazor glad to hear Im not the only one who finds that fin a little too tall or overbearing. And yes starting with an original deck cover would be the way to go when fabricating a new male plug , now I guess the question is which is most desirable, the existing fin with some sort of @ slingshot garage forward swept wing or an entire new rear deck with a much smaller fin or no fin, incorporated into a new forward swept wing . Maybe a one third height rear fin blending into a forward swept wing at that height ? feedback please. @WOLF @Bil Martin @DKF Texas @jorgebri60 @mniron @MACAWS@Tripod @BONES @Neosolidus@MBMedic @Painter @sideseatdriver @FunCycle and anybody else please ?
I've been working on some prototypes with a customer of mine. He bought the Wycked Hitch System for the sole purpose of mounting a formula 1 style wing to the receiver. Quite a range of likes and dislikes based on individual tastes, which makes me think that we can put our thoughts together to come up with a "Wing System" that is customizeable. Mounts below rear deck (acts like a fender also) and accepts bolt on attachments to go above the deck or visa versa. You want me to send you a hitch Kevin Adams @www.ssbodykits.com ???

Oh hell..... I'm going to have to buy a new hitch won't I?

@RichArlt
Nice to hear from you. I have followed your wicked hitch with amazement. YesI would very much be interested in talking further to you . -
just a thought....installed thru Fin with automatic mechanical sensors

Might be in your future @MBMedic! Make sure to contact me directly if you decide to pull the trigger.
Now if only there was someone who bought slightly used stuff.........

Not forward swept wing, but forward thinking. This is a small jet engine mounted for down force! Crazy!
-
-
@mniron that's just crazy....
I have said it before the key to rear down force is not the wing/spoiler but more than likely a will engineered rear defuser.
Down force with sound effects, really crazy!!

Meaning a system that capitalizes on the rather flat bottom leading to the rear. The offset swingarm is problematic but not unworkable.
Interestingly I have been working on a split rear diffuser, been thinking they would need to be angled slightly out away from the rear wheel. The center wheel is problematic but I think there could be some benefits. There is a huge vacuum at the rear wheel as it sets which is evident from the dirt it collects. I have some pieces that I am working with but have not permanently mounted anything yet. I need to pick your brain a little in Maggie.

Y'all can pick my brain...it won't take long!!!
