We cut the cross bar to make room for high bend and reinforced with 3/8" steel. Stronger than stock. Used a 2.5" stainless pipe squashed for better clearance & good air flow. Then added a tip. It cut the sound by 30% And eliminated all odor from cat delete.

That's just beautiful!
Now if they'd just design a dual side exhaust like the old Stingray's... -
We have been running this rear exit exhaust for over a year now and love it. -

used 1 3/4" oval which is equal to 2.5" round. Gave me back over 1 1/2" ground clearance due to shape and ability to tuck it higher. Just added this about a week ago but until then had been running the 2.5" to the rear for over 8 months and love it!

These systems look great! Would love to extend the Alpha variable exhaust out the back. But, I would pancake the pipe rather quickly.

Tha'ts Jeff Charon...he doesn't do a lot of online stuff, but he and I live a few miles apart. He designed the CAI I have on mine. Heck of a guy. He also has an awesome quick release luggage rack that he builds and sells.

Is the luggage rack on the back by the roll hoops are under the tail?

Not 100% sure...wasn't anything I was really looking to add to mine, but I believe it's on the roll bars, has 2 legs that drop on to the black plastics so it doesn't touch the painted portion. Has rubber stoppers on the feet of those legs. It's got a couple of quick release pins that hold it to the roll bar plates. Gas tank is stall accessible...it really is a really solid rack from what I remember of it.

nicely done. When the time comes, oval is the way i will be going.

The exhaust shop I used took 2.5 round stock pipe and compressed it into an oval shape using a bench vise. The oval pipe was about 60% more expensive than the round.

I am going to wait and see what everyone is doing with their exhausts. I like the idea of going out the back for sure, I have not decided if I want to run tips up to the rear deck or just out the bottom. I have seen more people talking about the Alpha adjustable exhaust being the best all around. I would be worried about long term the function of opening and closing to get stuck, anyone have some thoughts on that?
I have thought about going with a Magnaflo muffler and have it custom welded also.. I want a decent throaty sound not that high pitch like a duck noise. I know it is difficult to get a good sound with a 4 cylinder and the videos probably do not do them justice. I will have to listen and check them out in the Smokies!

Yea, and some of them look like they are already burnt out.

Has anybody had problems with the plastic melting or getting to hot under there SS on there exhaust systems that was ran out the back. I am asking cause i would like to run me a pipe all the way to the back and put a Y and run dual tips on each side of the rear.
