Made stops at Ozone falls and Burgess falls
State parks today. Pics don't do justice to the falls. Burgess falls is a series of falls spread over about 3/4 of a mile and is worth a visit.

Dang we were close brother, we were down at McCloud Mtn over the weekend. DER slide over and ride Devil's Triangle. Best to ride it counter clockwise, better pavement. Brushy Mtn State Pen worth a stop, restaurant is supposed to be good. Ginger's on 116 just north of TN-330 has t-shirts and stickers. Nice ride, you'll like it!

John Price and I were there the day they opened the restaurant but did not stick around to eat.

So.....my house had lots of interior water damage due to big limb flying thru a window for Hurricane Laura. Contractor had all my furniture & personal belongings moved into storage units 60 miles East (all were destroyed in Lake Charles) to Lafayette. Now Hurricane Delta has taken a bead on .....wait for it......Lafayette, LA!! GEEZ Mother Nature — CHILL —- I get it you want me out of coonass land. Just tell em to send my checks to the mountains and I’ll never slow down less than 70 traveling thru Louisiana ever again !! The rest of the coonasses can use a break 🙏

Taking a 5-hr energizer ride today... don't expect to see many more 85F days as we wind through October!
Driving through Huntsville, Ponca, Jasper (lunch), then down the Arkansas Dragon (hwy 123) to hwy 16, then home through Deer, Armaugh, and St Paul, to Elkins.
Stopped at Steel Creek park, wanted to photograph Ruby with the stunning bluffs there, but there were almost 50 riders there (horse!). Ruby growl was spooking them, so I headed on to Jasper!
I'll post more as I drive!

Arkansas 142 is a fun ride, also. My RAV4 kept wanting me to take a break because the "tilt" sensor said I was weaving too much. I was going from West Plains to my daughter's place in Pocahontas.

Back home safely. 185 miles in 4 hours plus a leisurely lunch in Jasper. Gotta say, hwy 123 is WAAAAY better than the Pig Trail! Lots more hair pins, s-turns, chicanes, and much of the road is thrillingly narrow with forest or rocky bluffs on one side, canyon drop offs on the other. My hoop mounted camera went dead, so not much in the way of photos this trip. You really need a copilot to take pictures, great scenery, but this driver certainly had his hands full, and really nowhere to pull off!
One really nice thing, no trucks bigger than a pickup allowed! I did encounter one big truck on the way to Jasper... I had to pull a pretty slick maneuver to get past him!
Great drive, we will have to be sure to drive this road next year when we get together in the Ozarks!
