Very sad to hear about things like this, prayers to the families of those involved.
On an unrelated note are those harnesses that ya'll using "street legal" , can a cop give you a no seatbelt ticket for wearing that instead of the seat belt?

these have the approved buckle, not the track one. I've passed 2 safety inspections already.

The PRP's and most of the other 4 pt harnesses are NOT D.O.T. approved. If you were to get LEO that follows the letter of the law you could get ticketed and would lose if you attempted to fight it. I believe most don't know the difference and as long as you are following the spirit of the law you should have no problem.
@Tripod... Where's that pic of the most awesomest 4 point harness... You know... The one with "airbags"... Somebody here has the very same one too...
Takata?
Totally not appropriate for this particular thread...
It did also say in the article he hit a park car, light pole and hydrant. Any combination of those will surely cause the wheel assembly to blast apart. The dip could have caused him to lose control hitting these objects.

2 slingshots driven by youngsters....if you think they wasnt being youngsters and racing .......
To hit 3 stationary objects, and still continue going forward in motion means alot of force (speed) was present.
It is sad.. but it will happen again..with a slingshot, a crotch rocket, a crusier....

Yes, we should just repeal all laws and replace them with Darwins. I'll bet we could get Congressman Higgins to carry it. He does call it like he sees it.

I had the pleasure of meeting then supporting Congressman Higgins. He is a breath of fresh air - solid LEO - says what he means and means what he says. Could use a LOT more in Washington like him!!! Chaulk up 1 for the coonasaes
Hey Bill. Good point about 4-point harness. I am looking into one now. Not to get to off topic here, but if you could share with me what 4-point harness set up you with with would be great. I am ready to buy one and installs as soon as I get my slingshot back from the shop.
Did you end up going with PRP? We have the ProArmor 3" harnesses, and really like them.
Very sad news for sure.
As far as I'm aware if it's classed as a motorcycle how can they possibly serve you a "fail to wear a seatbelt" ticket? Regardless, I'm very happy with my PRP's 4.2 harnesses and Alpha's harness bars, and yes I wear a brain bucket faithfully.

I can see bad things happening if not paying attention. Not to say he wasn't.

Whos to say but my thing is the ejection part, thats sad and even though i switched to a 4.0 harness (thinking of going to a 5.0 harness) it could have still been fatal, take a look at the pic upside down, you see the roll bars do their job & im assuming thats why the driver is holding on 🙏🏽 but i NEVER did like that oem seat belt......
