Edward Neal , got same battery for my 2016 just before years end. Was a bitch to install. Size a little off from original. Hope yours goes in easily. Never got (1) front lower bolt in. Do like battery.

good to hear you like it. yea the reason why I'm waiting till tomorrow to install it is so I dont have any time constraints. today I have a Dr appointment at 1:30 and just seemed like a bad idea to get started on it now when the Slingshot is going to be my transportation to the DR.

Got some new headlights today. The Slingatti Lights by SlingMods.
......im curious to know chavey2 what year slingshot do you have here and which eye brow strips are those that are also blinking........I ask because on my 2017 I found that when I was done wiring the Slingatti lights up the blinkers would freeze up unless I unplug the front side marker lights on both sides, than I have no issues...........I'm wondering if the eye brow LED strips that I have from slingmods, may not be compatible with 2017 wiring........if anything I'm not concerned about those side markers blinking but I do see yours working along with eye brows you have..........

New shifter knob......have to go with that skull theme.
That's awesome!

Dieter, with all your talents, I'm sure you could make 3D PRINTERS. Then, if you could figure out a way to make them actually work , you'd make yourself a killing selling them

Way too much logic and I love it!

Frank the Tank I have to thank you for the heads up on the slight size difference. Thanks to you I knew to the fit the aluminum hold down strap before trying to instal my new battery. instantly saw the side wings of the strap were a little too narrow for the new battery. laid the strap on my anvil and used a hammer to spread those wings out just a bit until I could fit it down over the battery. did all the test fitting on my work bench before ever trying to put it all back in the Sling. It all worked perfectly, old battery out and new in in under 30 minutes and also installed 2 new corner headlight bulbs - - - now I am off to go turn in the old battery and get my core charge back
Anyway - just wanted to thank you, no doubt saved me a ton of frustration if I had tried to just slide it in under the aluminum strap
It doesnt fit??? hand me that hammer!

...today's mod thanks to Dave@DDMWorks .........again

It's a 2019. The upper and lower brow lights are from Amazon. Never had any problem with them not working. I've had them on for 3+ yrs now. Just got the Slingotti lights this past year and again, no problems. I did use the Slingmods wire harness to connect everything.

.....well everything is working fine as long as I leave the side front marker lights unplugged, I had a issue installing those tric leds eye brows on a 2020 come to find out from the company that they weren't electrically compatible with that year model......so I'm only guessing these eye brows might be my issue because if I disconnect all of my eye brow lights and plug in the side marker lights with the Slingatti light all is fine......thanks for that link to those Amazon strips ......
-
......so today's project is to rectify this issue I've been having with my rear 305 tire rubbing up against my WP rear exhaust pipe that I've been wrapping with heat wrap......I hate that it even touches it and messes it up, so I'm going this route with a spray primer & spray paint from KBS coating https://www.kbs-coatings.com/
.........we'll see how this comes out......
-
So now it will rub the paint off?
-
So now it will rub the paint off?
....well to be honest the rubbing was ever so small but enough to bother the wrap , so im hoping it wont rub and if it does its black like the tire, so we will see.....
-
With mine I had some adjustment to move it out from under chassis with the 2 clamp joints and had
to use were the bolt to chassis is a longer plate drilled..
-
.......just got off the phone with Ben from Tric Leds & had a beautiful conversation about the electrical issues with the slingshot ( our 2nd , had a issue with a 2020 last season also with the front eye brows ).......forgot he was in my book , I'm saying to myself "how did he find me " lol......

Has anyone purchased the Powdercoated intake and valve covers from Rev Dynamics? Need to know if I need to order a gasket kit or if they include it.

On the 2020+ engines there is a gasket that can be swapped over to the new intake and valve cover. On the ones we powdercoat we do not supply a new gasket, not sure if Mitch is supplying one or not though. They are very pretty though powdercoated - https://www.ddmworks.com/2020-…take-Manifold_p_3038.html

There was a question today on FB that made me think about this...
If one uses the adjustable shocks and lowers or raises the Slingshot does the belt need to be adjusted because it would be too loose or too tight?
Thanks

I do not think any of the coil overs on the market have enough adjustment in them to make belt tension an issue. Where I have seen this be an issue is with air ride and guys wanting to make a good amount of power. We've had them here at ZZP and if the air ride was not at the proper height, the belt would skip trying to do a power pull both on the dyno and the street. Initially we thought the belt was not adjusted properly so we set the height to stock and adjusted the belt. When left in that position there was no issue but once the sling was raised up or down from that position we would have issues under heavy loads. I've never had this issue with an non boosted sling however. I just don't think there is enough power being generated to skip the belt. But large changes in the geometry of the swing arm does have an effect on belt tension. What we ended up doing is having the owner set the ride height to their most common height and set it as a preset on the controller and adjust the belt to that height specifically. This helped circumnavigate the issue with the belt skipping under heavy loads.
