Can't believe that Tennessee (State) closed down the road for that run. They are so anal about the Dragon, I am completely surprised. That was awesome.

Always been allot of talk about rear tires but I cannot find anything about fronts. I have set of 255/30/20 T1R1 Toyo's that have been on through 3 rear tires. They are about to see end of life and I will need to replace.
Any suggestions? Want something good in dry/wet and curves.
Thanks for the responses.

Phil, will be thinking of you and praying for your recovery. Will miss you posts.

Gerald, which bearing needs to go in certain way to work? Like it came out. Or an I confused as usual.
-
Sounds like rear bearing. Had swing arm replacement but bearings bad at 46000+ miles. Mine worse backing.
-
If it sounds like a box of rock it is probably your axle bearing. Try backing up slowly and see if you don't hear it better. dangerdarrell has a video of a bad axle bearing on the forum, somewhere. Just had to have mine replaced. Could only hear mine at idle speed, exhaust to loud otherwise.

VV11B40, first of all so glad that you are OK. Sorry for the loss of your slingshot but you can always get another one with the 2.4. But last, I am sorry that we will not get to meet in MV. I was looking forward to thanking you in person for the PDF Service Manual you sent to me. Hope we can meet up again.

Boomer and I know this guy from Alabama that had his tires on backwards at SSITS. Talk about a re-do.

Rode up to Rodgersville, TN today to eat at a place we had never been before, Amis Mill Eatery (pictured). Old gris mill is gone but still a few stones left to see some of the wall where it had been. Big Creek Dam was built around 1780. Thomas Amis house built around 1781 (no picture). Interesting. But main thing was food and it was good. I had a 1/2 rack smoked ribs, excellent. Cathy has fired green tomatoes and crab cakes, also good. Would recommend if up in East Tennessee. I will go back

SoCal, I will answer you as I was told. Thought about replacing myself but service manual fails to give you any information on anything to do with axle issues. There is a cutaway diagram showing parts. Shop where purchased SS did work. Checked lug nuts and belt adjustment. Belt has some wear issues but not causing tap. Driving forward tap in axle and driving backwards even more tapping from axle. Could feel and hear tapping in axle. Bearings did not show issue but once removed why not put in new. No tap now. Also, they put in 250 weight gear oil in angle drive. Said Polaris was telling them to do. Not sure I will stick with this, sound awful thick. That's what I know. My neighbor is a master mechanic and worked at Mahle (piston plant) for 30 years. Was head of their maintenance. He listened to prior and felt of axle and thought it was a bearing. I am going to show him this one and let him inspect one day this week.

Not sure I will call this an enhancement to the SS but I guess it was a necessary purchase. For those of you who have been lucky enough not to have seen these parts, they are from the rear axle and the dreaded axle bearing. Had the angle drive recall done back in, I think, 2017, thought I was safe but apparently not. Got the ticking sound out back when going slow and really loud when in reverse some weeks back. Not heard of anyone having this issue since back in 2015/2016. 41,900 mi.

VV11B40, Thanks for sending that to me. Really helped me decide what to do. If you come to Maggie Vallely this year, look me up...
Again, thanks.

Think it is the bearings with blue arrows but not 100% sure. Thanks for the picture and info.
