Asked my salesman about the first service he said they tighten all the bolts and change the oil and check drive belt tension all for 189.00. I asked about the final drive oil and he said that it's belt drive and there isn't any final drive???? I said how does the engine power reach the rear wheel if the belt doesn't go all the way to the engine? Got to be a drive shaft correct?
Slingshot almost owner.

Engine to transmission to driveshaft to 90 deg gear box, to belt to wheel.
What dealer are are talking to? Is there another close? -
I got an LE, the 2016.5 Blue Fire. Basically, the best and fastest. Don't let these snake oil salesmen on here snow you.

Bold face lie right here. I would expect more from a man in uniform Red is the fastest and it really isn't up for debate!

The final drive you are referring to is the angle drive. I've changed mine 4 times in 24,000 miles. Mostly to try different gear lube to try to quiet the angle drive noise. I've had best luck with Mobil 1 Syn gear lube 75W140. I also run Mobil 1 5W30 in the engine with a K&N oil filter. You might want to pick up the special socket for the oil filter cap. About $10 on Amazon or any car parts store will have them. Just makes changing the filter easier. I jack up the driver's side of the Slingshot, and put one jackstand under the frame. That helps the oil to flow to the right side, where the drain hole is. It makes it look like the Sling is a male dog at a fire hydrant....
As for the $189 for the first service..... if you have any mechanical knowledge at all, don't have them do it. Instead, buy the Polaris service manual with that money, and do it yourself. The manual will pay for itself many times over during your ownership of your Sling. The local dealers around me charge $99 an hour labor. You can pay for that manual on the first service, AND get to know your new ride better.

My dealer told me the traction control takes care of that. (Yea Right.)
No it does not. All you can do is slow down and be careful or pull off of the road.

Except since you have decided of your own volition to live in that communist "shithole" state, both your judgement and decision-making process are proven flawed enough to render any statements you make frivolous and irrelevant.
My claim stands. Irrefutable.

I have removed my fenders, but yes with the fenders on it will work.
This are the ramps I use

since you have decided of your own..........
Hah!!
Ya, let's you and I sit down over many beers, and discuss decisions we BOTH have made in our lives!!!
It will be enlightening!!!
(You'll let it go brother, you'll just let it go!!) -
Well @Slingrazor and @mytoy, looks like you both have better ramps. I was using the old school metal ramps. However, after I did the first oil change I found out how easy it was and didn't bother with raising it again.

I guess I'll try changing it on the ground also. On another note are you guys changing out the lug nuts your slings came with? Read hear that they are a soft metal from factory?
