Seen the picture of the burned sling and wondered if he new anyone here? I hope his death changes others who maybe able to reach out to the terminally ill in a positive way. My sympathy to his family and friends here in the states and abroad.

Buy used. Buy new. Buy on sale. But buy from a reputable place. I promise that the $6.99 is not legit. Like I said, at best it's a scan that is illegal for that price. But there are much worse things it could be that will haunt you down the road for many years and cost you much, much more than you think you saved.
@Goats_Hogs You are correct. Saving money often clouds our thinking. Well I'm glad it was an inexpensive lesson. It's going in the trash. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks just ordered one. It said for the 15 model year are there that many changes between 15 and a 17?

What about the open bolt hole in the swingarm? I would think it's much more critical? Has it been discussed or did I miss it?
I know that there is a mud flap out for the swing arm. Is this what you mean?

Saw on slingmods they sell an alpha cover plate with a screw that covers a hole on the transmission housing into the flywheel. Why is this there and do all cover it up? Selling it as an aid for dirt and water. Why was it manufactured this way? How many have left it alone? Any adverse reactions being open?

Libbys in New Haven. Since they are only 20 miles away from me and I bought all my bikes in the past through them. I only had 1 service done there it was a front fork seal on a wing. Never went back for maintenance I looked on Web and YouTube and did it myself. Hoping the shot is as reliable and easy to work on also. Going to place my deposit on Saturday Am.

. Go through the whole forum. See what other folks have done to their Slings. You're gonna spend more money on this thing eventually than you planned...don't start off with things you may eventually wish you hadn't.
Yea I've never updated my suspensions on any bike I've owned although all the forum guys suggested to. I kind of like practical mods that saved time and money in the long run such as the lug nuts and sun screen over the radio screen for clarity. I also would like to see floor mats that don't show footprints like I'm sure the black plastic will do. I wish weather tech made there tray liners for the slingshot? I will do a lot of reading here and hope I make the right purchases and not add to much to the for sale section.

I talked to the dealer about the hood pads...they said Polaris made changes on the 17 model and the pads will cause issues...just FYI

I should add, if you have a specific question, ask it, and someone with a manual will probably take a picture of the pertinent page(s) for you....
Yea that would be a savings for sure. Not cheap. I had a Goldwing that I ordered the service manual for 15 bucks!

I'm going to the dealer on Saturday for a 17 Sl first mod for me is going to be the lug nut replacements and the transmission plate install over the hole that's their. Also I'm going to put down some floor mats, storage behind seats and the glove box liners, and the hood cushions in the engine bay. Enjoy the Modding @Locapacow

Oh yea I have a question on receiving notifications for a thread. I like the notification bar on the top of the page to let me know that someone replied but don't like getting e-mails for every post. I turned off all e-mails for conversations and forum. How do you set your account up for posting and not missing posts? Also I haven't seen anywhere for sending PM's?

@Bigdog I asked my dealer about getting a navy blue one and he could get it but wouldn't give me the 3000.00 discount. I'm going with a Black 2017 SL. Lots of accent colors for black also. Leaning towards a silver accent decals? Going back on Saturday AM for a longer test ride in his demo. Most likely put a deposit on it.

@Autocycle SL Yes. Change them out. Some have had to drill them out to get them off. Slingmods.com has them, as well as Slingshotonly.com, along with many other places I'm sure. But beware.... once you visit those places, IT BEGINS!!!
Now I'm in trouble!! Slingmods has a set but Slingshotonly didn't offer any? What are you using for torque values for these?
