Catastrophic brake failure issue

Neither the electric assist steering unit or the steering rack are serviceable (at least not by Polaris) so I would be interested to hear details on what they claim was done ... assuming you received a written summary of the service .....

@Bigdog, your receipt shows recommended repairs to be N/A... If they replaced your steering rack, they may have had to remove the steering wheel to center it up. Most mechs use the whammer method to remove steering wheels and may have broken the cam lobe...

Yep, they didn't paint mine when they replaced the steering rack...

My brake failure light comes on daily, it still stops so I didn't give it much thought. Thing that sucks is when it is on you cant use the cruse.

Not to pick on anyone but all this talk about cruise control(not just this thread but in the forum in general) I have never once used cruise control I find the idea of it boring and unappealing.

It might be a bad driving habit but i am constantly switching speeds and gears and on purpose choose roads that would force me to do so, I have a friend who swears up a storm every time that he has to drive behind me because of my speed bursts which force him to get in/out of cruise.

Cruise control is for those who are forced to drive(truckers?) or those that don't like to drive, even when on family vacations in the SUV I refuse to use it.

I have to use it or I will be driving 120mph +

Cruse control has saved me from many a ticket.
Live in a small town surrounded by small towns and speeding tickets are a source of income for the locals

We have taken our slings on long journeys around the US, the last one being 6500 miles. Without cruise my right leg would have been in a lot of pain. Cruise extends the driving day when you want to get somewhere.

I set the cruise as much as possible when highway driving. Allows me to flex and move my right leg and foot for comfort. Keeps me just under the "radar" as I set my speed at 7 mph over the limit and don't have any issues.

I can't afford anymore tickets on the policy as I have two teenage boys who have helped max out insurance points and costs.

With the SC and cruise set, it just hums and handles any incline presented. Very comfortable driving.

Cruise keeps me out of trouble. I wouldn't be able to afford the sling with the amount of tickets i would of had.
