Typical of what we would call a "cold winter day" its 49 outside right now and we are expecting a high of around 66 or so - absolutely clear not a cloud in the sky - - - - unlike most areas we dont get what any of you would call winter we get more of a "cool season" This cool season lasts for 3.2 months, from November 20 to February 28, with an average daily high temperature below 75°F. The coldest month usually being December with an average low of 46°F and high of 69°F. - - Actually we have been running above "normal" last week we were in the 80's and this is the first day where it has actually dropped below 50 for a low
oops - we are up to 51 now

Hopped in the Slingshot this morning and headed to Physical Therapy wearing a pair of gym shorts and tee shirt. It was 62 degrees and a nice ride.
Northern Indiana foggy, cold, just plain nasty.
Ended up overcast and raining today. So much for the weatherman
It should be a federal law that every weatherman must have a window in their office😎

I actually feel kind a sorry for the local weather people, the way this valley is surrounded by mountains its almost impossible to tell what's going to happen when storms pass through, sometimes they rain themselves out before they can get past the mountains and other times when they do make it over there is so little left that the so called rain is very little and almost exclusively along the base of the mountains - - these winter storms that come in from the west are almost impossible to know what the real impact will be by the time it gets here - usually the only storms that are actually big come in during the summer monsoons from the south east
but then again I guess that's why this is a desert - - - like yesterday day - so called 80% chance of rain and it hardly sprinkled didn't even get my jacket wet riding the sling home
For some reason they measure our annual rain fall from Oct through the following September. Last year from Oct 1, 2020 to sept 30, 2021 we had a total rainfall of 1.18 inches - - that's it for the whole year. Since last Oct 1 we have had a grand total of .04 - - 4 one hundredths of one inch
yep of all of the places you could choose to be a weather person this place would not be very exciting and I highly suspect if they just said "no measurable rain expected no matter what their radar said they would get it right more often than they do now
Prayers you all are safe and sound after the tornados and storms last night!
Everybody is all excited here in Maggie Valley about a 25- 50 mph wind - down in the swamp that’s what we call a nice breeze

So since it was nice all week, I planned a little ride out to the Andice General Store. Then the cold front come in: Our "High" temperature for the day was actually at 12:01am and it just got colder from there. Went out for a run in the morning and it was colder when I finished than when I started! Dropped 30 degrees in 1 day.
Not a bad sunrise.
