Looks like summer is over in SE Florida .......
....
.
60 and dark clouds so I closed the pool. Didn't want to waste a nice day closing it. Time sure flies!
Nice
81 degrees 84% humidy.
Now this is more like it!!

Gee, I thought the correct temp for CORONA was close to 40 degrees. I don't know anyone who likes beer that warm
Summer is having one last final push here
But in a week things start looking like what I consider perfect riding weather
By my standards those lows are what I would call "crisp and cool"
seriously its been a long time since Ive seen the 60's

I’m sending up a prayer for all the Florida brothers - that Hurricane Ian looks like it may turn into a monster !! If you haven’t already - start making a plan. I hate hurricanes almost as bad as snakes😛. Be safe - this one could be a killer - if it heads toward you GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE !!

I think we are going to be fine here in the greater Jacksonville area. We are ready for whatever comes our way, nonetheless. Praying for the folks on the gulf side of the state, this could get really ugly for them.
Thanks uncle Bill. Like I said, this year has continued to shit all over me. Daytona looks like it will get by with only some heavy rain and no more than 90 mph winds, so we'll be fine. But what sucks is we're heading over to St Petersburg Thursday as I have to be at the hospital there early Friday morning for another spinal procedure. Storm looks like it's aiming right towards the Tampa, St Pete, and Clearwater area, bit should continue breaking towards the west. But it will hit land late Thursday, and still be a mess for Friday and Saturday for our ride back home. I'm starting to regret not doing as I had planned on moving to some small island and live in DESTINY.
Best wishes to the rest of you here in Florida, and the rest of you along the coastal areas as far west as NOLA. Bill, sure hope that LC spares any more damage as we both know what it did to you guys. Be safe everyone
Funinthesun prayers being sent your way for weather and procedures...
Been 2 years already since Laura devastated SW Louisiana: They have built back quite a bit but have a long way to go yet. If you have never lived thru one of these monster storms you just cannot imagine the destruction and devastation. Pictures & videos really do not give you the whole story. Thru Rita & Laura NOBODY was killed in either storm in the 2 parishes I resided. That is because they got the hell out - including me. If you are in FL - please do not get complacent and think “I’ll ride it out”. It could be the worst decision of your life!!
I just watched the weather channel. They are saying that Ian will be a cat1 later today, and build to a cat2 tomorrow, and hit a cat4 before hitting the West coast of Florida. To illustrate the differences, I thought I'd bring you guys up to date on how they rate these storms.

Watching the track of the hurricane and it is coming right at us here in Lecanto, Florida. Praying everyone stays safe

Be careful with this one - you appear to be about as far from the Gulf as I was. If this one blows up like they predict a Cat 4 is no joke!!! Be careful my friend - you would not believe what can happen with all the flying debris - it can be deadly!! Stay safe !!
