Hello all. I read the threads on aftermarket steering wheels, but not really finding the info I'm looking for. I'd like to go to a D ring, but more importantly, I'm looking for wheel that has a little give in the grip, if that makes sense. My stocker is rock hard and I prefer a wheel that has a little sponginess feel to it, like my car. Any recommendations? Anything out there? Thanks.

I was very happy with this wheel from Assault.

MOMO GT50. Super comfortable!

Buy some driving gloves with padding. Easier to install and way cheaper.

Not really going to help with him wanting a flat bottom wheel though.

That is true but it is only flat on the bottom when you are going straight down the road.

That's not the only point of the wheel. It's also for aided egress and ingress of persons that have a hard time accessing the Slingshot. Maybe he just likes the look, but that is what he asked for.

I laughed my butt off the first time I saw those "D" shape steering wheels UNTIL I bought my first one. By the end of the first day riding with it, it didn't feel odd at all. In fact if I ever buy another Slingshot that has one available, it probably will be one of the first mods i do (or have done for me)

My steering wheels are the d-shape with the curve instead of being straight bottom

I prefer the stock wheel. Didn't see the need to change the shape of it, I just dressed it up a little with this terrific cover I found to soften the grip. So far, no regrets...

I tried this steering wheel, but its geometry is really weird in terms pf where your hands must be placed as you turn the wheel -

I had one of these I bought from a fellow owner, but I mounted it wrong and screwed it up after re-drilling the holes. I found a sale item on EBay for $60 and use it now -

I thought about using the cover option, but that makes it too big overall.

I recently installed this and I really like it. I wanted something not flashy. The slight flat bottom does make getting in and out easier.

This one doesn't look like it's got the soft grip I'm looking for.

I love mine, also with the quick disconnected it's easier for my tiny but to get in and out LOL

You mean... Like a circle? Was that a joke?

Maybe, but I don't mind how it feels. It hugs the wheel like a glove. I chose this particular cover because one, it's made for the 13.5 inch wheel, and it's also marine grade so, thus far, it has stood up quite well against the elements, including our blazing Arizona sun.

I got one like Roadhawg has and it males the wheel feel a little bigger and really feels good for driving. It was a PITA to get straight but I like mine. Sure beats replacing whole steering wheel. Just my $.02

I have thought a quick disconnect might be a fun mod, but I absolutely do not want the steering wheel any closer to me than it is now as stock - - not having any local slingshots where I can see these things I have been hesitant to order anything - - what I would like to know is if using a quick disconnect with the NRG short hub adapter can the wheel be kept at its original distance?
