AWESOME PICS @MiM and they just reminded me I wanted to ask you, where did you get the brackets for your Ciphers and didnt somebody else post back a month or two ago when we were talking about these seats with a real affordable bracket ?
Mine were already on when purchased... But from what I've gathered, they are planted seat brackets... I'm guessing version 1 because they don't slide, just recline...
@QuickSilverSS got the same ones and I'm not sure of others who have Ciphers too (maybe other versions)...
Definitely something for your site! An alternative to PRPs

Sometimes if want something awesome that means a lot in the end, you just have to find someone to help you make it special. Have to pass on a skill to a new generation or it will become extinct. Working on smoothing out the side panels for Felicia's Sling.

Trent, why are they gray? You sprayed then sand again and repeat until fully smooth?
-
3 different levels of sanding, 2 coats of primer, sanding, 1 coat of primer, 2 coats of primary sealer, sanding, base, clear, sand, clear.
Got that.
You can see the finish it creates by looking at the tub on mine. -

I have the Cipher RED/Carbon got them for a bit under 300 on sale shipped to the frozen tundra.
I have V1 of the planted seats that i was able to steal from @xd675x Thanks again Scott! Both my ciphers recline, slide, are comfortable, look very good and have a life time warranty(*) all for less than 400 bucks after everything was said and done.

Oh, and agreed! -
@studiopeg, take it apart and take the pieces to a reputable paint shop close to you. What scares most shops is the tear down and reassembly. That’s well documented here and several of us have done it. Plenty of assistance available if you run into problems.

I went to Goodwill and bought several old quilts and bedspreads to use to pad the body pieces. After putting down the rear seat in my Ford Edge, I was able to fit everything in the rear area when I took my body panels to the kid doing the painting. After I picked the panels back up, I redonated the quilts and bedspreads to Goodwill. The quilts/bedspreads allowed me to stack the body panels by placing the padding in between the different layers of body panels.

Well I've given up for now. Nothing I tried worked, none of the many, many places I called will do it. I have a really good painter in the area but I simply am not qualified to disassembled by myself even though I'm good with tools. I found a Indian dealer about 75 minutes from me who said they would do it, but then I found out they planned to ship it to their sister dealer 2 hours away for them to do it.
Eh, I'm done for now. I bought some trim kits off of slingmods and will put them on to dress her up a little. I'm getting an air ride and new shoes, so that should be enough to make it unique around here.
I just got this picture yesterday from the couple I bought it from. Should be here in a week!
