Have you seen the little teaser for Dec 8th... I noticed the Auto has an M in the buttons now... maybe for manual and paddles??? https://slingshot.polaris.com/en-us/
2021 Slingshot

Or perhaps the “M” stands for Mundane...

Good thing it isn't an automatic like you pictured...

Polaris is really announcing the 2021 line far in advance of what they did for 2020. That's a good thing.
-
Most of the teaser clips Polaris is posting are the 8 second video that only shows the "M" on the gear panel, but there is a longer one that is about 12-15 seconds that actually shows the gray/silver paddle shifters being used from a side angle. I'll see if I can find it again.

^^^^^ yeah... I had to watch a couple times, but you can catch that paddle shift right at the end!
-
I prefer the stick and clutch peddle over the paddle shift.
-
Let me guess, Polaris is only going to offer the M/Paddle-Shifter option on a new model that costs thousands more than the R Auto-Drive model!
-
was probably sttategy all along. Now they can release and R Plus model for close to 40k starting msrp with the paddles.
-
What bugs me is since the R AutoDrive model cost an extra $1700 over the R manual trans model why not offer an SL model w/manual trans for $24999 or even offer a new S model w/o the Infotainment gear for around $22,000. This would provide a more attractive entry price for people like me who can't afford the SL or R models. I'm sure the detuned SL motor and a manual trans would still make a very drivable Slingshot. Maybe the tuners could even come up with a new ECU tune to give a little more performance as an intermediate step between stock and going boosted. Choice is always nice for the consumer.

For this reason If we had waited until today to purchase a new SlingShot, there would not be one in the garage. And if anything ever happens to our current SlingShot, we would be replacing it with a pre-2020. Actually, we would start looking for another 2015 or early 2016 for under $15,000. The manual transmission should have remained the primary option with the automatic as the alternative, (maybe just my opinion?)
There would be another issue of two of our favorite accessories, the Paramount Plastics Stealth Rear Fender version 1, and the MeanSling Sport Top, are no longer being manufactured.

I agree, they really need to offer more of an affordable entry line. Hopefully they at least add a manual only option to the sl version.
-
If I needed to replace my 2015, my finances wouldn't allow me to buy one of the new models.
-
it would be nice if they would offer 0% interest for 60 months again -- I know I would be thinking about a new one if that were to happen

I've been getting emails offering 0% for SIX MONTHS! Like I can afford payments of 4-5,000+/month!
-
Why buy a new one? I'm perfectly content with my 2015 and may be more content after I get the supercharger installed.

Agree, love the manual transmission R!

Same, my M3 daily has paddle shifters and other than when I first bought it and had the new toy vibe have never been used
-
Paddle shifters are good for the track where you need to keep both hands on the wheel.
