.......On the local parkway and hearing some unknown noise coming from in front of me while im shifting & noticed that it was getting harder to shift into gears and when i was shifting i would hear this noise again , so i decided the next exit was my exit pulled over to the right lane threw my hazard lights on and now I couldn't shift into any gears .......coasted off the exit in neutral and needless to say waiting for a tow truck........ noticed that while off i can throw it into gear and start it up and she will jerk forward while making this awful sound and i cant shift it back to neutral unless i turn it off.......i do drive hard ( I will admit to that ) BUT really..... I honestly thought i blew up my rear hub since ive been seeing pics lately but didnt hear nothing come from underneath or banging
Ok what did i just Blow Up ......

Clutch problem?

Clutch problem?
My first guess, too! If it is, replace everything related to the clutch so you don't need to pull the motor and trans a second time for something else.

Check the clutch reservoir, make sure you have fluid. Does the clutch feel normal when pressing it, or is it soft at first? Does the clutch come all the way back out when you release it?
Try pulling up on the clutch and pull it towards the seat, pump the clutch and pull it out if you can, do this several times and see if that helps.
Just throwing ideas at you, see if one sticks
Good luck with it!

Ditto - had to do that for someone yesterday!
worked like a charm

I can pump the clutch but it doesnt feel the same , a little harder i would say......can only shift when off.....if i turn it on while in gear it jerks and makes a nasty noise......my neighbor build engines for american made cars ( mustangs mostly ) said it sounds like the clutch also when i started it in gear.....

Yeah, clutch problem!
dangerdarrell and I have both done that this summer (I helped! 💖). Darrell is still wrestling with his.
You *can* DIY this, but I recommend getting some help. Also, just buy the dang engine hoist - cheaper than renting in the long run, and you're gonna have friends come over for something other than beer & cigars!

Now being how i never had to tackle a job like this before & its out of warranty its back in my garage and ill start researching what i need to get this rectified

Not sure if you have any kind of borescope, remote camera type device or not, but there is a little opening on the drivers side of the transmission that if you have a remote camera allows you to see into the transmission. If you can look in there, you can see the slave cylinder and the clutch pressure plate and might be able to see if something is messed up or not.

Changing the clutch does require removing the engine. That sounds bad, but it is really not that difficult on the Slingshot.
