Does anyone remember a cherry coke and a warm honey bun after school, only $.20 ?
I remember a hot dog and a Coke for 10 cents in Morgantown, WV - 1962. Probably one of my favorite places to have lived.
I remember 15 cent hamburgers in 1966 This was at Chip's a hamburger that opened in Georgetown in 1966 and later bought out by Hardee's I worked the window for $1.05 an hour. In 1971 I could fill my 67 Corvette up with gas for $4.25 Hi Test Leaded at that
McDonald's used to offer a 3-course meal for 45 cents. IIRC, it included Fries (12 cents), Soda (15 cents) and a Cheeseburger (18 cents). Unfortunately, minimum wage was only around 90 cents or $1.25 or so/hour at the time. At the time, I hoped to get around $2-2.50 to mow a yard, but usually told people to pay me based on their satisfaction with my work and often got a little more. My GF's Dad always paid me extra, but he knew who I'd be spending it on!

I remember a girl that had sticky buns, but even at $20 I wasn't interested - coke or no coke

Nothin' worse than crusted sticky buns!
I remember when the Dead Sea was just sick.

I don't remember honey buns, but I certainly remember Burger Chef & Jeff! 🤣
My friend down the road says he is so old he doesn’t even buy green bananas anymore 😂😂 - he is 85 and still works cows - he is gonna outlast us all !!
Mobile phones are great - when they first came out - then they added the internet — we all see where that went 😩
When my younger relatives rag on me for being old, I ask them if they realize that texting was invented during the civil war? It was called the telegraph. 150 years later, they are doing the same thing.
Then I ask them if they realize that computers, were invented by people WITHOUT cell phones and computers. I don't think they believe me.
Stressful times

Stewart's Root Beer Drive ins. I forget the price of a hamburger, but I do remember the cold brewed root beer in a frosted glass mug.

not only was gas 25 cents a gallon, A pack of cigarettes was about the same price - - - in fact for much of my youth and on I was always fascinated at how closely the price for a gallon of gas and a pack of smokes mirrored each other - - all of that pretty much ended when they invented sin taxes on the smokes and bs gas taxes to fix the roads they never fix - - - - quit smoking when the price hit $20 for a carton - I was smoking better than 2 packs a day and had better things to do with that money
I forgot about the price of a 10 carton of cigs. 1970 military was I think $1.25
Dad said these were a luxury...
As kids, we got this...
Another luxury us kids didn't get...
This is what we got...
One year, my brother, younger than I by 2 years, started lobbying our mother in late summer for BB guns for Christmas. We even got so desperate that we told her we would settle for ONE and we would share it. The last couple of weeks before Christmas were almost unbearable. We searched high and low in the house to try to find that hidden BB gun.
We each got a Bible. Of our own. No sharing. Good for you Mom. The BB guns would be long gone. I still have the Bible.
