To Boost - or not to Boost

Don't quote me on this but I think Jeff sold to Twist around 2 years ago.

yes - its been known for a long time - Scott at Slingshotonly owns them both and some others as well
-
I guess since I was not a mod guy for 6 years I missed that

And some will not have anything to do with this. Just read between the lines. Also for another thing in Maggie Valley he bought Smoky Falls Rest. and Motel for his sister to run. He was tying to make this the head quarter motel, I do not know how that worked out.

Yes I must admit that I find it bothersome when too many things in one industry are controlled by a single organization or person - - I like more competition not less -

All of our supercharger and turbo tunes that use the larger fuel injectors have been modified about a year ago to keep the reported fuel mileage correct. Bob @ Mefiburn should be able to update your tune for you with that update.
I had Bob update my ECU in 2019 or 2020, but my Miles Left until Empty and MPG numbers are still way off. I've just come to ignore the Miles Left until Empty and MPG numbers and just track things in my head.

Bob may not have put it into the Hahn turbo tunes, it was something that we wanted on our tunes and worked with him to get it correct. I don't think that Hahn is doing any active development with Bob anymore, which would make sense if he didn't roll it into any updates. You could give him a call though, it is pretty easy to do, once we found the table in the ECM that changed that reading.

Ya know the Haltec calculates fuel mileage pretty well.
Hey Dave@DDMWorks do ya think they make a dash that would show that?
Just asking for a friend

Dave, have to guys tried running your turbo tune on a Hahn turbe Slingshot? Any thoughts on the results that you might want to share?

That looks like a Bill Martin paint job
Don’t you remember, Bill Martin has a WRAP FLAME job, not paint!
Have to say, it’s a good looking wrap, almost looks like paint!
JUST SAYIN -
I could have sworn it was paint. When I keyed it, there wasn't any sticky material being pulled off the body panels. In fact, I'm sure it went through to primer, but i could be wrong

The middle finger just doesn’t seem like enough anymore....

We have used our turbo tune on several Hahn kits, so far the feedback has been really good 👍

As for gas miles left, I do rely somewhat on the gauge but not the "miles left" by Polaris. I normally fill up about 2 bars left... that is about 4 gallons in the tank by the pump filling. Unless I am running a top (MeanSling) and on interstate at 80, I should make 140-150 pretty easily by 2 bars shown. I will run it to "reserve" if needed occasionally, but I am very careful not to do hard turns and corners. If at reserve, I'm really easy on the throttle, as I don't want to lean burn in a corner and do damage to the engine. When going out west this summer, if I can't find at least 91 octane fuel, I told my wife I will consider taking off the blowoff nut and removing the piston to allow all boost to be let off there. No boost means little chance to have a very expensive fix. I realize this means I can't push it (around 3750 with supercharger tune and no boost, it is limited by the rev limiter as I understand), but I also will live to see another day. Dave@DDMWorks , what say you?

My gas gauge hasn't worked for over a year. I just reset the mileage on the trip "B" setting and refuel anywhere from 175 to 200 miles or at the end of the day. It's no biggie except for seeing the bards all flash and the low fuel lights starting back at you all the time

so adding turbo throws off the gas mileage by how much?

I think it is the injectors that change the mileage calculations - since you are using more fuel and the calculations are based on stock injectors

On non-DDMworks tuned turbos/supercharged, the gas mileage reports about double what the Slingshot is actually getting.
