It has probably already been discussed, what hasn't? But, what is the max size thumb drive I can use on my radio? It's an early '15. Anyone know if there has been an update that can be applied?

I tried a 32gb and it would not work. The 8gb that came with the SS works fine.

on my 2016 I am running a 32gig thumb drive. I just made sure it was formatted correctly.

Maybe that was/is the issue but I tried to format it multiple times and never got it to work.

I'm using a 32gb on a 2016.5 with no issues.

Would you please tell me what format you used to format the 32gig thumb drive? @Ghost It is possible he is formatting in a different format you tried which let it work. FAT...FAT32...NTFS...EXFAT ...ect ect

Yep, that is very possible. I am most definitely technically challenged so there are probably thousands of way I could have screwed it up! LOL

I use a 32G thumb drive as well without issue in my early 2016. (FAT32 format)

32gig in my '17 works great!
-
I have used several 32gb and 64 gb just make sure you have them formatted as "fat 32", the slingshot does not like skinny formatted drives(NFTS or other formats), it prefers the fatties
All my flash drives are generic microcenter drives so just about any drive out there outside of very cheap chinese ebay stuff should work.
PS my playlist is about 20 GB so I don't know if it will read anything beyond "32"gb but it will read a 64gb drive if the files don't go over "32"

Good info guys! I will re-format the 32gb drive and try again!
