Using my 2015 Base wheels, I have a Sumitomo HTR Z III 295/30R18 on the rear. BIG improvement over the Kenda on damp roads. I now have around 22K miles and got the Sumitomo around 21K. Will install Sumitomo HTR Z III 225/45R17's on the front once the original Kendas wear down some more. The front Kendas have never really been a problem.

Today I just did a TOYO EXTENSA HP $132 for the tire, removal, balance (both sides), and mount $159 out the door. Fountain Colorado BIG O Tires off hwy 84 by Walmart.

I have a base model '16 and would really like to find a quiet tire. Out riding today and rode on some new asphalt and WOW! 30 db quieter(that's a SWAG estimate). I found this thread and looked like I could get a recommendation.
Thanks

Nitto 555 are considerably quieter than stock.

Am I doing something wrong? I looked for Nitto 555. The label on the SS says front tires are 205/50 17. Doesn't look like Nitto makes that size. Suggestions?
More looking and I find there's a G2 Summer and Extreme Street Performance tire. Which is your recommendation?

I am picking up a set of SL wheels today...guess I should check out Big O for tires. Danka!

What's the word on tire width? What's the widest you can go on the SL wheels?

I went to Discount Tire and they recommended the Michelin Pilot Sport. Said it would be quieter than the Nitto and a better tire.
What say you?

I have to vote here
g-Force Sport COMP-2 | BFGoodrich Tires
Will admit tire wear on the rear is not great - but I blame me not the tire
Handling in my view - excellent -
I'm running Tiahs!

I have BFG Sport Comp II also (from Discount Tire) and I really like it. Dramatic improvement over Kenda.

I did not get the mileage out of the BFG, I do not spend much time spinning the tire either

@captcharles I'm sorry, I didn't even check for stock sizing on the 555's. They are the only ones I have experience with. Two different Slings w/aftermarket rims. The Discount Tire suggestion or any of the other forum members are most likely spot on. Which puts us in the same realm as shocks, anything is tons better than stock.

No worries. Thanks for the reply.
The Discount Tire rep didn't help much. He suggested Michelin Sport Pilot. He did say that the tire is asymmetrical so he didn't know if that would work. I contacted Michelin and they said they do not have any tires for any 3 wheeler. Discount Tire rep then suggested something else and I got the idea he just wanted to sell me something he had. Ugh. Then he said Hankook EV12. I asked why and he said his buddy has them on his car and likes them. Some endorsement.
Still looking.

Don't give up yet, @kenny_h can save you. Kenny what tires are you running? The Capt. would like a stock sized tire that is quieter than stock with improved handling. I believe yours fit that discription.
