Someone suggested 26 to me and I'm very very happy with the wear as well as handling at 26 so that's where mine will stay.

I've read good things about them. Hopefully, the tire sale is just a clearance of overstock and NOT an indicator of abandoning the Slingshot market!

Now you tell me, after I've started the move to the 305 rear...

I'm betting overstock. How many of us have purchased a second set of stock tires?
it's just a heads up for those that like to keep it OEM.
I know I didn't and don't use them. But there are some that do and wanted to tell them what he called and asked me.

Running Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's at 26 psi.
Ok you gurus for this coming track day Im going try out the Achilles 245/40ZR/18 for rear ($81.97) and brand new stock 17 kendas upfront. I know " KENDAS " but they are virgins and have never been mounted ( i mean installed) using stock base wheels which are stronger than SL tires for track ( no offense i have them for daily driving). Let you guys know after Dec 4.
How did that Achilles 245/40ZR18 tire work out for your track day? Just wondering. Achilles actually rates those tire at
400-AA-A compared to the 300 rating for the Kendas.

They worked out great once I ajusted air pressure here is the proof after 70 plus miles of torture. Not bad for a 75$ tire.

That's some serious shoulder wear. I confess ignorance since I've never been to a track. How many track days do you feel you can get from a tire like that? They look like they're ATR Sport 2 All-Season tires. Any thoughts about the ATR Sport?
Have not used the ATR. But my thoughts on tires used for track depends on the track, weather, monitoring tire temp and finding the correct PSI for the conditions ...and lots of other factors like tire size, suspension adjustment ( if you can), braking points just to mention a few.
Most importantly....Merry Christmas!
I have a tire question,... I'm purchasing new tires,... front staying stock, 225 45 18,.. the rear stock is 255 35 20,.. if I go with a 275 35 20 in the rear it changes the speedo about 1.5 mph,.. will that difference effect the traction control or mess something up by not changing the front to match?
No, you will not have any problems.

Maybe I’m missing something here @Shatneyman and @Slingrazor but why would the width of the tire affect the speedometer?
@dangerdarrell cause if it is wider , it slows you down, you know wind resistance!!! He he ha ha JUST SAYIN
Maybe I’m missing something here @Shatneyman and @Slingrazor but why would the width of the tire affect the speedometer?
It's really the diameter of the tire that affects the speedometer. If you think about it, a smaller diameter tire has to spin faster to go the same distance as a larger one. The smaller will show on your speedometer as going faster than you really are and the larger, slower.
