Grandpa passed away a couple of months ago. He wanted me to have this. Just brought it home. Don't know which direction to go hot rod or original. Just want to do something that he will be proud of.

I would research which would have a higher resale value
I would bet original but not sure.Looks like it would be a great item to pass down thru the family

I would never sell it. I know parts for a 31 are a dime a dozen. I was told there are more model A,s on the road today then there were on the road from 27 to 31. I just feel I've been passed some legacy project torch. I just want to do things right. I'm going to swap meets and car shows. In the next town over is one of the largest model A clubs in the Midwest. I've been in contact with them all ready.

That is very cool and it looks complete! I don't think you can go wrong here but that's an excellent candidate for an original resto. I don't know your Grandpa but he put this in your hands for a reason - I'm sure he'd be proud of whatever you do. Looking forward to seeing the direction you go - and the completed project.

I love cars, bikes, trucks etc etc etc. But this just has alot of emotion mixed in with it. Just on here more venting than anything. I have been sitting here staring at it. Almost scared of it. I don't know if any of this makes sense to anybody.
-
I bet it makes sense to everybody...
Your Zen will tell you what to do. Don't rush it...

resto mod.. just enough to make it something you could drive anywhere while keeping as much of the original charm possible.
Very cool indeed.

Very cool . and I understand your quandary ..Pleeeeeaaaassseeee consider staying original or going this route ... pains me to see so many originals being cut up .... if someone wants a hot-rod I would much rather they buy something already beyond restoration condition or just use a reproduction tub .... it seems like there are a bunch still around but the number gets smaller every day ....

I would knock the dust off and fix any rust spots and just clear over it. Then I would probably just get it running and drive it to shows. If you make it a street rod your going to have to change everything from the wheels to the suspension to obviously the frame and chassis.
If you just make it a running and driving antique car and clean it up and spray some clear over it you will save your pocket book and still get to enjoy it and share it with others.
If you want hot rod just go to eBay and grab one. They are a dime a dozen. Hope that helps

That's awesome Chad... My condolences and may God bless you and your journey with this machine... Nothing greater than doing something yourself, with your hands, in honor...
Peace brother! It's going to be great!

As complete as it looks.....I vote for Resto project!!

Original restoration for sure. Give the old girl a lift on life and you won't regret it after. A very nice ride
-
Definately original. Congrats on being able to carry the torch for the family.

you can never put a price tag on this, do what is in your heart. Go with your gut feeling, it will be the right choice and make you smile.

Cleaned out and took inventory of parts I pulled out of cab. Got all the seats full bench up front and the rubble seats in the rear. Found the rear bumper chrome in the pile of garbage in the rumble area.

original wood floors in the rumble area and up in the cab. Bench seat sliders still all there and working.
