@Slingrazor have you driven it at high speeds or high winds? If so, what does it do to the stability of the sling as well as the fenders?
Front inner fender removal.

It almost looks even more agressive from the side. Great job!

While doing some testing on a power increase last week I made a series of high speed runs. I don't notice any difference in stability. What I have noticed is the air flow on the side of the sling is less turbulent. That is really highlighted when you see how water flows off the edge of the hood by the mirror. Instead of the water blowing back towards me it drops off and goes straight back in the clean airflow.

That's pretty hot, man.
Bet if you painted it black, maybe with some texture, you wouldn't even see (at a quick glance) that there should be something there.
When you said your outer leg gets dripped on, where is the water coming from?

"...leg gets dripped on..."
Nope, no humor opportunities here, move along...

It is the water off the tire that hits the side of the black tub then trickles over the edge (speaker area) and blows back on your leg.

Every since Otter over on TDS removed his inner fenders, almost two years ago, I have wanted take them off. The removal of the fender is very simple.
After I removed the fenders I discovered the mounting holes that left a lot to be desired. What I came up with is a filler plate that mounts over the area where the fender used to be. It is made out of 1/8 stainless steel that has been powder coated to match the silver on the wheels and roll hoops. I mounted it with three screws and 3M double sided tape. If I grow tired of them the fenders can be remounted. The three holes I drilled are under the area where the fender mounts so they will be covered.
I have rode without the fenders since Thanksgiving in dry and wet weather. The airflow coming off the front tire area is smoother now because the dead space has been removed. In the rain you will have a small amount of water trickle back over your outside leg. The water does not splash inside.
The sheet metal shop I had them made at has stored the shape on a CNC computer so if anyone would like a set, just let me know.
The holes below the filler panel are air vents to cool the foot well area that I am going to fill with black mesh. That looks sharp! I like that truck too!!!

Thank you. The truck and I are in a fight at this moment. I'm trying to pull the engine so I can put in a rebuilt long block this weekend. Lot of moving parts and nobody to wrench with.

You know what might look great is the material I cut the protection kits out of. It's a textured black think material. I need to see what it would look like. I have my passenger side wing off. I'll check it and see.

The metal shop will plasma cut what ever metal we want them to.

If I was close to y'alls neighborhood I would definitely help ya out!

nice work @Slingrazor.
The side splash guards have been poking me in the eye sense day one. I also removed them back in the early days and agree with your assessment. Many worned of rocks and gravel being ejected into the cab and water from the tires going everywhere. Those were from people who hadn't even done it.
Love the cover plates. Well done taking it to the next level.
If anyone wants to try it the removal is really easy other than drilling out the rivets. Funny thing, my first SS that was swapped out by Polaris never had the rivets reinstalled. Found it really wasn't needed so go for it guys. -
I like this a lot @Slingrazor.
I want to do this to our shop sling and possibly take it a few steps further ... We will see if @Dave@DDMWorks will let me .

I took mine off over year ago..but made my own fenders to replace .
First set was trailer fenders and then I made my own . -
One very important recommendation I should have put in the original post. If you decide to remove the fender I would highly recommend installing the hood buttons that hold the hold down. When you remove the fender the aft pressure point on the hood is removed. The hood buttons will stop the movement of the outside portion of the hood.
I'm interested in buying a set, what are the hood buttons u speak of? I've always thought the fenders look hideous.

Go to this thread. It will explain.
Hood buttons! -
@mniron installs them at some of the slingshot gatherings if you happen to attend one where he's doing installations. If you're feeling brave about cutting into your fenders, then @Noel Hughes has them on slingshotonly.com Hood Latches for the Polaris Slingshot - Slingshot Only

Anything DIFFERANT I LIKE!!

@techguruguy, just be aware that what @mniron installs is subtly different than what Slingshot Only installs. Make sure you read that thread and understand the difference - after all, you're drilling holes in your hood!
