Sweet!
@rabtech....YOU know screw length your speakers/ grills used. You screwing them in till they stop or forcing the screw in..Im not a big fan of forcing any screw.... Input would be great..
-
Force them. I used the long screws that came with mine. Just be careful it will get easier to screw them in after about 10 turns... Don't let your screwdriver slip off.
-
It messes with your mind because it's easy at first then it gets super hard to turn. I just kept turning and it got easier toward the end.

I used the screws from the enclosure vice the ones with speakers. There is no reason to not use shorter ones. The screws, when fully installed, should stick a little out the back. At least a quarter to half inch, a little more is ok but does not help with grip.
My screws were longer than I mention above, but I had no issue with them not seating.

I like those speakers @BONES!
The diameter doesn't stick out of the pods like I saw on another set...
Mimster...They fit perfect...Just gotta force the screws tomorrow
-
so will these fit in the Front's need a Yes or No? I think I should be good, but just wanna make sure prior to buying..Please help the Needy!!

So you guys aren't drilling out holes for speakers right? The RF's came with 1 1/4" screw, way to long, thread them into SSV but they bite and stop with 1/2" still out. Im gunna get shorter screws, but was just curious if you fellas are threading them through? wasn't sure if this is a common size screw? seems a little over kill in length dept??
I used the screws that came with my JLs they are about the same length but black so they match everything else.
When tightening the screws do not use a power drill/screwdriver at full speed take it slow and let them slowly make the groves/hole.
The last thing you want is to ruin the mounting hole by using too much force too quick.

Think I may be tracking the issue now. You may be using too small a screw driver. Make sure the tip fits perfectly in the screw, and use one with the largest handle you can find. It sounds unbelievable, but it you try to get any torque out of a small handle driver, you will fail.
When I did mine, I was using a smaller craftsman driver (I believe a number 1) with a small handle. I could not get it to work. Changed quickly to a larger one, #2 or 3, biggest that fit well, and it was easy.
Also not, as soon as you get the "bite", one or two turns and it will get much easier. The screw is just making the hole slightly larger for a perfect fit.
I would advise against a power driver. Too easy to strip the screw heads if the bit is not perfect. Larger driver handle will solve issue, I know it sounds stupid....
