I can't speak for mniron because I don't know if they are the same flats @ fenders and center flat but the ones on mine were once upon a time part of my fund raising efforts for St.Jude
A few of these sets made their way around the group before I stopped offering them up. They require committing the ultimate sin of cutting on your SS for the fenders and gutting the center cowl plastic.
When the demand slowed down for them I stopped having them stamped.
I just wanted something functional.WHAT DO I NEED to do to get a set .. please let me know
Well I can make another run of them but it will have to wait until I come back from my BMT in October thru November.
I will try and post a follow up but by all means bump the thread now and again so I don't forget.
There are alternatives out there if can't wait. Most racer supply companies that offer NACA duct work, vents tend to have fender vents available. They may not be the same shape but if they provide dimensions you at least have some options -

@gpcustoms What did you use to cove up where the word Polaris would have been below the center head lights. I like the look.
-
@The Wizard, that's @mniron s Sling.
And @Gonfast38, that looks interesting! Please share more details... And pictures?

I wish I had more pictures. I wrecked my sling and I have no hood to mount it on. Fortunately the scoop was undamaged.
It's just an idea I came up with one day so I made mold and laid in some fiberglass. Unfortunately the mold was damaged on removal. I then had it hydrodipped. Not bad for a first attemped.. I have been thinking about making another mold if there was intrest

Mine aren't covered. Im thinking you saw mnirons picture.

@The Wizard, I made the cover out of two pieces of aluminum flat stock that I curve and fitted to the front nose. Then powder coated to match, simply bolted on with oxide coated stainless steel bolts to give a mechanical look. This was part of my de-badging of my Slingshot.

AllIn5450, mniron, Ross and 4 others like this.I like your concept and have changed my thinking. Now food for thought. For additional heat loss, you could put some small vents on the sides (even paint them a different color from overall scoop to match color of SS). This would help out with additional heat loss. I was thinking along the lines of a house roof vent where heat loss is from the sides. Having the vents pointed downward would keep water out. Make the color of the scoop black matte to match the black part of the SS hoods and have the colors of the vents to match the color of your SS.

I was thinking something like the corvette summer hood scoop theme.
Except the scoops go on top instead of on the sides.
have 2 or 3 facing forward to act like ram air and 2 or 3 facing rearward to suck out the hot air. -
I was originally going for the GM Cowl Induction look. When I carved one out of foam and set it on there it didn't look good at all. The lines didn't work with the lines of the SS. So I went with a more angular adaptation of the cowl induction. What you can't see is that the back is open and I have a screen covering it.
I would like to make another mold, but this time I would make it a three piece mold. The original was a one piece. If I make it three piece I can recess the vent screen and the whole thing would be much easier to get out. I could also make the screen recessed which would give a much cleaner look.
Right now I am still trying to get my sling back on the road from the crash. It looks like I have to do a complete repaint now, including swingarm, valve cover, wheels, etc. Anything orange. The pearl that was used is discontinued so I can't match the original color.
