I know where those Alpha boxes were headed!

I swear I started to request a shot of the headers on the "special" chairs but I thought you might take it the wrong way. Damn if you didn't beat me to it... Dats sum funny chit right there.
-
Freaking beautiful stuff @Turbosling - same incredible workmanship as @Painter's stuff
-
Nope they are my shop towels... And I have been granted the use of the table. But this stuff has to be off the table by tomorrow.
Here are some shots I think everyone will like...Somehow I knew that was coming.
-
In the Kings Chair and the Queens Chair...Congrats on the Product testing ..
-
Now on to the exhaust.... EVERYONE should remember me bitching about my exhaust droning and driving me freaking crazy.. Even my side exhaust was driving me nuts. I guess I'm getting old... Well Henry must have read my post because he has sent me one of the nicest LOOKING exhaust I believe you could cram up front... I actually had to put on a shirt so y'all would not see my hairy chest in the reflection.. This thing is a freaking mirror. The muffler has plenty of inside surface area to silence this engine...It has a backbone brace that is massive and has weight reducing cut outs. The turbo flanges are just like the manifold flanges I mentioned earlier, very thick and heavy. V-bands......V-bands.....V-bands.....V-bands..... Did I mention it has V-band clamps... That makes it so much easier to work with....
I wont be able to fully give you all my final thoughts till I actually hear it in action... That will be soon.... Im drinking red bull and coffee now just to get some energy to stay up all night....
But seriously , JUST LOOK AT THIS THING... I don't have to say anything...
-
I added this picture to the header pictures... Y'all have to see this. Look at how even all four pipe come together in the collector..
-
I will show off the turbo next... Its a bit different than I'm used to seeing. It has the wastegate mounted a bit different... I am betting that its strictly to help make the unit more compact. It probably does have some different effect on how it operates but i have no clue what it would be... I will post some pictures shortly of it and how it all ties together... I have to eat .. My wife made taco salad.... And Im big on taco salad...
ALSO,,, I WANT TO SAY THANKS TO HENRY..... AND THE WHOLE TEAM AT ALPHA...
It does mean a lot that you trust me to give you a fair review and I am happy to say that I am all smiles so far... I cant see one single thing that it is built like a brick shithouse!!!!!
Thank you so much....

Now that the cat is out of the box i'll chime in. The tubular manifold. It is a hand made Alpha part but I have to give credit were it is due. I did not personally hand make this manifold. DJ my lead fabricator makes all of these by hand. Speaking of Dj not to be a downer but his grandpa that was pretty much his dad passed this morning. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts/prayers as this is a very very difficult time for him. The talent and steady hands are amazing if you think about it. That manifold was the last thing he made while knowing his grandpa had only days.
Ok on to the turbo kit. The kit Rab got is our basic kit plus the optional turbo manifold and turbo side exit exhaust. We have been very conservative with power since the beginning not knowing what the limits of this engine in a sling would hold. Now that we know what the limits are and what can be done to safely turn up the boost this turbo should yield some stunning results. It is not hard making BIG hp but containing a turbo that wants to stretch its legs to such low boost levels is always harder. The air flow and efficiency of the kit is amazing. So all of you that have Alpha kits and want to turn up the juice you now can with a few steps!

Words elude me at this moment. Im not sure what to say or how to say it. But ill give it my best shot. Please stick with me thru this post because it is going to blow your mind....
I am in Jasper AL working this morning on a MRI machine. And I get a text from my FedEx guy. It read "you have 3 fedex red packages. Where do you want to meet me?" I replied that I would meet him at the local Fedex Depot since I was in Jasper AL already.
So I pull up to the building and walk in the side door and he says for me to back up to the big door. At this point im a little freaked out because I am wondering just what the hell I have ordered that would be shipped red label and why the hell is it so big that I need to back up to the big door....
When he sat the first box down I knew immediately where it was from. I had watched the video like everyone else. So the markings on the box gave it away. It was at that moment that the little kids voice inside my head was screaming so loudly that I actually think people standing around me could hear it! It was screaming "IS THERE REALLY A FREAKING TURBO IN THIS BOX?" I had to finish loading the other boxes and pull out of the way so the driver's could finish loading their trucks. So at that point I still hadn't opened a single box
What had just happened? Was a turbo system really in those boxes? Had Henry really sent the biggest loud mouth on the forums his system? All this was running thru my head as I was getting on the interstate.
I was about to wreck getting to a stopping spot so that I could open the freaking boxes. So I pulled into a Shell gas station to get some gas and started opening boxes. I'll let yall see what I found.
He did send me a turbo system. I am guessing at this moment it was to show me (and everyone that reads my post) just how strong his system really is. It is pretty slick marketing on his part. If his system is as awesome as he says then I can only say great things. If it sucks you guys will see that also in the videos and dyno reading. He must have a pretty good idea that it's going to make some serious power.....
So I'm getting my ass to the house right now so that I can unpack the other items. Let's just see what else the insane bunch at Alpha have sent me to try to break...
I have a feeling this thread is about to get some views....
Welcome aboard Sir!

I hope DJ knows how talented he is.
And I am sorry to hear about his grandpa. Its tough to loose anyone you care about...
When things get better I would like to say hi to him. And tell him thanks for his excellent work. I don't think I have met everyone on your team yet.

Wow, this is incredible. Congrats @rabtech Can't wait to see how these systems stack head to head.
@Turbosling Way to go man, what an awesome gesture. Plus, like Rabtech said, it is great marketing. Everyone knows he'll push his sling to the limits, and have seen the results. Let's see what the limits are on your system. Heh.....Maybe send him a Super Charger too......purely in the name of science of course.
@Jonathan Thompson we can only hope a raffle takes place for the 2nd place Turbo

I guess everyone has figured out that I'm home now and have some photos of this stuff. AGAIN,,, Words can't really describe some of these components... I can't believe that some of this stuff is real. It looks like jewelry its so refined. I honestly wasn't expecting to see this kind of metalwork. That isn't supposed to mean that I thought it was bad before. I just never had pictured it being this sexy. Yep , I said the sexy word.
I want to give this system an honest evaluation with lots of detailed pictures. I think I will start with the manifold. I had always had a bad taste in my mouth about hand fabricated headers being used on a turbo in such a tight space. I have had all kinds of headers and they are notorious for leaking, twisting, and heating up in certain spots more than others. i have tried ceramic coating and jet hot coating and they never seem to work as flawless as a cast manifold. That was one of the things I liked about my current turbo system. It had a cast log style manifold and it made me happy,..
Henry has made what appears to be some sort of Medusa hair looking hybrid manifold. It has this thick ass heavy plate that bolts to the engine and then it has tightly twisted header pipes that seem to be thick also. And at the other end he did the same heavy plate to bolt to the turbo. Yes,,, This makes me happy...... Because now I can have hand made headers that have some of the beefiest flange plates I have ever seen. And they are true and straight as a razors edge..... And look at the collector... It is some of the smoothest stuff I have seen. Im sure Henry will chime in and give more technical details. But ill do my best till he does.
Yes SEXY is the appropriate word to describe this!

WOW!!! Today was my birthday and Rab gets all the swag!!! All I got was a hat

Sorry to hear about the passing of his grand father. Our condolences and prayers go out to him and his family.
-
@rabtech, you must live a charmed life!!!! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am anxiously waiting for the teardown and install to start. Seeing the pictures during the install...a work of art!!!! Congrats!!! Alpha picked the right person for a clear and unbiased report of their latest work of art. Can't wait for the dyno!!!! This will be interesting, to say the least.
