I think SLR is a bit overused.
Maybe they're trying to draw a parallel to the Mercedes SLR, with workmanship, quality, expectations....?
SLR also leaves the door open for future upgrades...SLS, SLT, SLX, and SLR LE. Just sayin'!!
What does SL even stand for? I "get" the R...
But why not just R (ala Jaguar style)? Or Slingshot RI (Race Inspired... Because it didn't get any faster with the graphics or tire... Or the sorry CAI)
Plus on one of the pictures I saw of the emblems, the letters were so close together, it looked like SUR.
If they had came out with a Turbo I would have said ...SST / Supercharger SSC.... but not happening so I would say SSAP (Atmospheric Pressure)
