ThomSS, myself, and our brides went for a ride yesterday. First Saturday of April and we actually saw temps get up past 70! I got a few more miles in that Larry did, as he lives about 40 miles from us and we started from his place. 372 miles, not a bad day! One place we passed had the spaceship home, so I got a pic of it as we rounded the curve.....
Ahhhh this almost got by me😜
Love the yellow bulbs Sully !
Your Sling, along with a couple of others are my favorites in terms of style... 🔥 👏 😎
I couldn't agree more! That is one clean set up, it all just comes together to make it come to life as one. And that's saying something for me because I really don't care for yellow, but I really like this SS.....
Goats_Hogs Thank You 🙏
What kind of drone you using?
We have a couple. The one we were using yesterday was a Mavic 2 Pro. It's a little easier to carry in the sling. This has been a pretty steep learning curve for me. I got my real pilots license back in the spring of 81 but when your flying a real plane it just goes the way it's pointed hopefully. These darn things move in any direction and your supposed to keep your subject centered in the frame and fly real smooth and know how to set all the camera settings etc ,etc. Heck I can't hardly take a picture with a cell phone! LOL I am having a blast learning. Unfortunately I have to be up early in the morning to go search for a 70yr old man lost in the forest. Weather permitting we will be ready to get in the air at first light if we are given the go ahead by the IC in the morning. Pray for someone to find him alive and well!

i SURE HOPE THEY FIND HIM ok. I started out with string flyers when young, didn't do to bad with them. I could crash one and take a hot knife to fix her back up. Did remote control and crashed everytime. Thought about drone but decided against buying one. Had much better luck flying C150. Probably would of gotten my license if not for a piss poor instructor.
Yes, thankfully he was located alive about mid day on Tuesday.
We have had fun learning the drone. Still got a long way to go for sure. It is an amazing tool. Just wish we could afford a bigger drone with a serious flir camera.
Glad they found him. Drones are fun, I have an older Phantom 2 that I bought when they first came out, doesn't have any of the fancy follow me stuff, but takes great pics and is fun to fly.
Drive 300 miles on the sling today, went into work and visited a customer, temps got up to 68 here, so was perfect riding.
Rode over to Hot Springs, NC to eat at Iron Horse Tavern. They have "Prime Rib Night" on Thursdays and as weather was great thought we would try. Enjoyed the ride and the food. We like to travel that way often to eat and then ride many of the good twisties that run out from there, ie: rattler, #208, #212.
San Clemente- beautiful day!
Marine memorial
Roadside flowers today- amazing what the rain has produced
Well I have got the SS all cleaned up from the rains in Clarksville and I am going out for a little ride and lunch
Plans for today:
Bill
Had Easter lunch in Compton today!
Folks from SoCal will find this funnier... Compton, AR is a tiny hamlet along the Buffalo River. I asked the fellow who ran the camping supply store where we had lunch how many people lived there. He scratched his head, then said he didn't think there were "quite a hundred folks within 5 miles of the store."
Lovely drive, about 160 miles round trip. We also saw another Slingshot, grey 2018 Grand Touring model with a matching trailer behind between Possum Trot and Plum Lee (really!) -- anyone in our group?
Left SSITHC yesterday morning, rode up to Lubbock from Kerrville to see my grand kids, and then rode home from there today. 5 hours yesterday and 6 hours today, great times.
My SS is running like a dream.
