Sling is staying in the garage today - 119 outside and no work so I am staying in the AC
Where Did You Take Your Slingshot Today?

Do you think Bill Martin would like to meet

South Jersey through the cranberry bogs. Wanted to get a picture of some bogs but no safe spot. Ocean Spray has a large cranberry processing facility in the area. Picture taken at Vincentown NJ.

To the grocery store a 2.5 mile trip. First day it hasn't rained in over a week.

He probably would ask the guy where he got that t-shirt from (that does say PORN doesn't it?)

Okay, yesterday. Got a ride through the rain clouds with Alamo Cycle Plex out of San Antonio. Nice back roads, crossing creeks, ended up at the West Henly Boil Shack for some gumbo, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and boudin sausage. Mmm Mmm!
Rain was an issue, but held off during the ride. Drove down from Georgetown (Austin) and caught a little rain in Austin, a little more rain in New Braunsfels @ Buc-ees (Currently Largest Convenience Store in the World), picked up my daughter, then drove the rest of the way to ACP. Just as we got to ACP, we got POURED on. Daughter and I went into the restroom trying to use the hand dryers to dry our clothes as best as we could. Waited for the sun to clear, then about 8 SS and a few motorcycles headed out. Didn't hit rain during the ride, but got it on the way home - twice. SS floated on me quite a few times, but I was smart enough to turn off the traction control and handled it all times, only bouncing off 1 curb slightly.
** Editorial: It's NICE to have a dealer who supports not just the Slingshot, but all the powersports. Dave @ ACP makes sure to sponsor a lot of local evens, puts on bike nights and weekend rides, and even just takes people out whenever he feels like it. Overheard him talking about being so busy @ ACP that he can't get time to just ride by himself, so he puts on these rides so he can get out and just lets everyone tag along. And so you know, he's 120+ miles from where I live and I STILL drive down to see him, passing 2 other SS dealers along the way.

I have never spun out on wet pavement until coming home from Maggie (Over 100,000 miles) yes I do ride in the rain with the nannies off. I had a brand new spare tire in the play room and just did not put it on the Sling before leaving for Maggie Valley. I will never leave home on vacation again with out a tire having at least 1/2 the tread left. I always install a new tire, not this year.

Yeah, my rear one is pretty toast. But there was one spot where I was stopped where the water was going THRU my wheels. So I was hitting puddles 2-4+ inches deep - can't blame that on the rear tire. (Front tires look almost new even though they have 12K miles on them - Nitto 555 G2s)

Went to see some friends that were camping in their RV. While I was there went to see the "Ghost" town of St. Elmo, Colorado. I had a whole different idea of what ghost town meant. These types of outings are why I do not put anything that will lower or remove what little clearance the Sling has. The first road had some pretty good size rocks sticking out of the ground to navigate around. As always... when FB asks to join just click not now and watch the video... I had to post these on there because of the size of the vids. It was a fun day... 55 degrees in July... damn I wish it would warm up.

Very interesting. I would have liked to fished the stream and panned a little gold.

Very pleased... normal mountain driving... from 10mph in the mud to 85mph on the highway...

Nice evening ride🙂

My granddaughters out cruising today…

It looks like the rear tire is out of air. I can't tell for sure, but I'd say the front ones are as well

A quick stop at the Jack Allen Airfield located in South Jersey on the way home. Airfield is grass. Many times ultralight aircraft use it. Nice day but in the opposite direction a storm was approaching. I made it home just in time!
