hope none of those blades are assisted as California will throw you behind bars for having one. I took my switchblades out of circulation when I found out the crazy penalties for having one here in Comifornia.

frankly I think the chances of me being attacked by someone with a gun are much lower than getting assaulted or mugged by some unarmed homeless crazy, also my knives are also great for cutting twine and opening boxes. You come into my home with bad intentions and you it will be guns that my wife and I have, but to be honest even if I were licensed to carry I dont think I would be comfortable carrying a gun out n about, where as carrying a knife is just normal, been doing it since my days in construction

actually in California "assisted" knives are not considered switchblades and they are perfectly legal also switchblades can be legal if the blade is under 2 inches in fact Kershaw sells several CA legal switchblades, but anyway . Anyway here is the rule on assisted in California:
"A spring assisted knife is legal in California as long as it “opens with one hand utilizing thumb pressure applied solely to the blade of the knife or a thumb stud attached to the blade, provided that the knife has a detent or other mechanism that provides resistance that must be overcome in opening the blade, or that biases the blade back toward its closed position.” Penal Code 21510 PC, which is the California statute governing switchblade knives."
assisted knives are okay, it’s automatic knives that are restricted and as I said above eve those are okay so long as the blade is under 2 inches. Look at the Kershaw Launch 10 or Launch 10 which are specifically designed to be CA legalEdit: As a Side note I do. have several assisted knives, but the ones I prefer to carry regurlary are not assisted. It just seems to have turned out that for other reasons that the ones I prefer are not assisted. Also with its Emerson wave opening system the Spyderco actually opens itself when drawn out of the pocket - much faster than any automatic knife or assisted knife
