I keep all my “hobby” vehicles on battery maintainers. Found a convenient spot to mount a waterproof charging port. Was going to run it to inside the cockpit but this was super simple. Back plastic panel loosens with a few screws and there is a open space all the way down to the battery compartment to run the wires. Ron.
Battery Tender Charging Port

Different port, but did the same and love it! Got idea from a forum member here. I put mine up on underside mostly to use up some of the longer wire the port came with. Looks great man!

I don't understand why these people don't use the plug between the seats. I've been using it for 6+ years now with no problems. Guess someone is always trying to improve on something that does not need to be improved.

This is much easier to plug in. Rather than leaning in over the seats - that’s why! Lol.

Some people want to KNOW why some people want to boost a Slingshot....

Also since yours is using the correct gauge wire and a shorter run directly to the battery your option is more efficient and less of a fire hazard than using the hair thin wire that goes to the cigarette lighter. Nicely done.

That is all according to how good your back and knee's are. Then again some people do not need a battery tender.

I've used this method and am happy with it. Different strokes for different folks.

If your riding the Slingshot enough you DON'T need one...

Just try this on your battery. It should make it tender

I think that only works if the battery is for meat.

I bought an AGM Group 34 battery at the end of 2017, thinking that I'd need to replace my 2015 battery soon. I'm still running that 2015 OEM battery. I wouldn't be surprised if I need to finally replace the battery since I've had my Slingshot up on blocks while I ever-so-slowly work on swapping out my old angle drive. Since I'm doing it by myself, I'm in the process of modifying my HF floor jack to add a platform to help me remove the old angle drive and raise the new one into place. Hope to resume again tomorrow.

I'm not sure if my 2015 even has a battery. I'm still using the original one if it does have one. But I did put in the jumper terminals, so I guess that black box that I connected them to MUST be doing the job of these batteries that you guys have been replacing. (Now if I have the curse placed on me by someone and I have to join that crowd using a replacement battery, I'm gonna start thinking that BIGDOG was right that there is a conspiracy out there for almost everything)

It's the alarm (not armed, cell/gps signal takes power still) and when I am driving it the stereo is blaring so speakers/subs sucking up even the increased power from new alt. Two weeks of sitting and it gets low.. died on me last week before we rode had to get jump box out. Motivated me to put some jump ports on the back so I don't have to take panel off and fiddle with getting short jump box wires in there!
