Conservative Politics & Daily Events Discussion

  • Totally agree that the US will be unrecognizable under another Democratic Socialist...I have yet to meet a true believing conservative that isn't voting for Trump. :huh:
    I have met quite a few middle of the isle, mainstream, casual republicans.... I think they are confused as to which side of the isle they work for.

    I'm probably older than most here, but I can remember the same conversation and doubt as to qualifications directed at Ronald Reagan. I have few doubts about Trump. I'm totally on board with him.

  • Damn, @Buzzard you have to go and drop Ronnie on us? Did Ronald sound as juvenile as Trump? I wasn't old enough to care back when he campaigned. ;)

    You know, Brother Wolf, there were times he made some of the same missteps as Trump along the way to the White House. It was a very contentious time. He was accused of being little more than a chimp and there were folks saying the same things about Reagan they now are about Trump. I might add that I was 100% on board with Ronnie back then and my entire family turned on me. Even though he had been a Governor, he was treated as an outsider and not a member of the "Club" by the elites of the time. That appealed to me as a younger man and it appeals to me now. I disdain professional Politicians. I don't believe it is the way it is/was supposed to be and will accept Trumps short comings.

  • I voted for Reagan both times but the 2nd time I voted for him was quite memorable. It was 1984 & I was serving as a nuke on a fast attack submarine. We had just completed some emergency repairs in Holy Loch, Scotland & were ready to cast off lines topside. Just then, a vehicle came screeching up to the dock with 2 large bags of mail (an unexpected luxury). The mail was quickly dispersed & in it, I had an absentee ballot for the elections. We were again just ready to cast off the lines when I told the Captain I had an absentee ballot. He asked who I was voting for & I told him Reagan. We just caught the vehicle who was getting ready to leave the dock. The vehicle & the submarine both waited for me to fill out my ballot & then we finally got underway! True story.

    Tripod, You and I have lived really dangerous times, but nothing we have done in our roles as Warriors is more important to the survival of this Republic than this election. You live in a little more populated location than I, but I can tell you this about the people in my neck of the woods. These people will revolt under Hillary. I am old and slow and, even though I haven't forgotten how to do it, I prefer Revolution to Civil War. I fear, however, Civil War is in the making.

  • There was a Mensa convention inSan Francisco.Mensa,as you probably know,
    is a national organization for people who have an IQ of 140 or higher.Several of the Mensa members went out forlunch at a local café.

    When they sat down, one of them discovered that their salt shaker contained pepper, and their pepper shakerwas full of salt.

    How could they swap the contentsof the two bottles without spillingany, and using only the implements at hand? Clearly, this was a job forMensa minds.

    The group debated the problem and presented ideas and finally,came up with a brilliant solution involvinga napkin, astraw,and an empty saucer. They called the waitress over, ready to dazzle her withtheir solution.

    "Ma'am," they said, "we couldn't help but notice that the peppershaker contains salt and the salt shaker has pepper."

    But before they could finish, the waitress interrupted: " Ohsorry about that."

    She leaned over the table, unscrewed the caps of both bottles andswitched them.

    There was dead silence at the Mensa table.

    Kind of reminds you of Washington D.C., doesn't it?

  • Now that is just plain FUNNY...I don't care who you are.....it's FUNNY!!!!

    Those who will give up essential liberty to secure a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety

  • Time for this flamin liberal to be put out to pasture with Hillary. Can you imagine the furor if Justice Thomas said the same thing about Hillary as Ginsberg did Trump. LIBERAL vs CONSERVATIVE is on the verge of full blown war.

    I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

    Cool

  • SIMPLY AMAZING WHEN YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT IT.

    Isn't it amazing that, within only one week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade, the press found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair during the last few years?

    And, they even uncovered photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc.!

    Furthermore, they not only know the cause of the family fight, but they even know it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade.

    Not only that, they know which wedge!

    And, each & every day, they were able to continue to provide America with updates on Tiger's sex rehab stay, his wife's divorce settlement figures, as well as the dates tournaments in which he was to play.

    ---------------------------------------
    Now Barack Hussein Obama has been in office for over seven years, yet this very same press:
    ·Cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors;
    ·Nor find any of Obama's high school or college classmates;
    ·Nor locate any of his college papers or grades;
    ·Nor determine how he paid for both a Columbia & a Harvard education;
    ·Nor discover which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's;
    ·Nor even find Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.
    They just can't seem to uncover any of this.
    Yet, the public still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth!
    Don't you find that totally amazing ?
    NOW TELL ME THERE IS NO CORRUPTION IN THE AMERICAN PRESS.

    Remember, you cannot get the water to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek.
