Just look at it as if Marry gave you your nuts back !
I am more afraid of her cutting them off

I just want to make folks with newer-manufactured Slingshots aware that if your VIN number search provides no results on the Polaris Product Safety Recalls site, be sure to proceed instead to the "Search On-Road Vehicles by MODEL" section that is displayed next on the page.
Our 2017 SLR was just manufactured less than 2 months ago. As with several other issues such as insuring it, etc, our Slingshot's VIN number apparently isn't entered in the search files yet.
If you INSTEAD use the "Search by Model" feature, it will list any POSSIBLE Safety Bulletin(s) until your actual letter from Polaris arrives and/or you coordinate with a dealer...
I have a question; I fixed my headlight switching problems last year, they are on their own protected circuit and I like them that way. It also says I'm to get a swingarm but I installed a grease zerk in mine. Suppose it's still going to be covered?
Oh the, I also drilled the axle and axle not and put a cotter pin in it too.
I called my dealer when they opened at 10am yesterday. They said that they knew all swingarms were to be replaced at some point, but hadn't heard about the recall until I told them. They have me in the system, but I'm really not concerned how quickly they get to me at this time. I checked my fuel line, no issues there. I check the brake line seals, all appear good. And I looked over the swingarm for and evidence of a crack or weak area, knowing where they usually fail. I also jacked up the rear, and checked to see if the bearings seem ok, and they did. I'll be aware of the issues and watch them, but I'll continue to use it anytime I want to until the repairs are made.
Thank you @rabtech for this thread, along with the pictures showing what to look for. I'm thankful I found this place, so many good people on this site!
From the select by model, it appears that every slingshot made is eligible for a swingarm. 2015 models get nuts also! (I hope it helps with acceleration) 2016 on are possible for brake seals. My 15 is listed for swingarm w/nuts and fuel line (3784, Mar 15). There is only one recall listed as a stop sale, SAF 15-01. I'm going to Murphy on the 11-12 run and will be driving the sling from Atlanta area. Its made the trip 4 other times so I'll trust it since its not listed as stop ride.
As I live in Indy, I assume I'll be able to have the recall work done in Ft Myers Florida.
Leaving Indy in few weeks and towing the SS on my sling dolly. Snow birding till May
Any slingshot dealer can do the work....
I Just talked to my dealer and he is gone to powder coat the swingarm in the fast red color before installation.

Call Sunsports when you get a chance and ask for Jerry (service manager), I was there yesterday on this..He's familiar with the recalls now and will order your parts and take your contact info.

While you're down there, are you going to be making more Sling Dollys for your biggest fans to purchase?

I would just take out the zerk put a little JB weld in the whole as a filler. No one will notice.

Yes, its not going to matter what you have done to your swingarm. They are going to replace if your VIN number is one of the affected units.
I have not seen anything posted on the web or forums about the swing arm breaking . I have seen the 2 fires and everyone has a break issue. So what happen , that the swing arm is getting replaced.
Had a few to break in the same spots. Probably 7 to 10 out of 15,000. Just a guess.
Thanks tab, looks like I'll be getting a swingarm come spring
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it will probably be after February before the swing arm problem is resolved. Get this - Polaris doesn't even know yet what they are gonna do yet for the recall. They are so covered up with Razer recalls they can't keep up. Story developing.. will post more when I know more.
