Leonard will not provide a temp tag. Probably best if you can get the Certificate of Origin and head to DMV before picking up from Leonard. You do not need insurance if you will be pulling trailer with any vehicle that you own. Trailers with brakes are required to have a Virginia State Inspection Sticker, and I am not sure if Leonard does that. But if they do not, I can get that handled for you and anyone else if this is a group buy.

Wow! No temp tag from Leonard!?!? Not exactly a deal-breaker, but one would think that service is part of the deal. The setup I am looking at is a tandem axle unit with the electric brake setup, so an inspection will be in order. My insurance company says I have to have the trailer insured, as well. Only $35 or so per year.

Wow. My trailers are insured with my vehicle, as long as I am pulling with my insured vehicle

If Leonard won't do it maybe you should ask Penny.

Do yall really tag your trailers. I do have a tag on it now but I flatten it out so I can drive over it.
My enclosed trailer never had a tag till the last couple of years. And I bought it in 2008

For a $5 fee, you can get a trip permit and transport legally without a plate. Very Easy!!
Check out the link here ====> https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/temp_permit.html

Ah, yes, Virginia - the land of personal property tax for everything you own...

I have a permanent plate on my trailer now. I'm only bringing up the trip permit as a means of picking the trailer up from the dealer and getting to the house with it... In a Legally Way of Course!!

@V-SHOT, I'll be watching this closely! I have a lesser version of that expensive trailer you saw elsewhere yesterday and would ditch it in a heartbeat for the right price on something I can work with!
I promise to keep you posted. Hope all is well with you and the move.

TRAILER UPDATE
Disclaimer: If there is an entity on this forum fabricating and selling utility trailers, it is not my intention to move in on your territory. My intentions are simple. I was able to find a good deal, and I want others to benefit from my good fortune...so to speak. If this is, in anyway, a violation to any rule or what have you, please feel free to let me know, and I will gladly cease and desist. This is what I have after talking to Kevin...
It was decided to make the ramps a full 7 feet to compensate for clearance of the underside of the Sling. The total cost of the trailer and ramps will be $2564. Plan on adding $100 for a spare tire and mount. Build time will be between 3 and 4 weeks. No budging on a group rate, but he agreed to give me a better rate...really not interested in that. Just hopeful I can help out a fellow Sling enthusiast. Those of you who have shown interest can PM me for Kevins number. Again, if this post violates any of the forum's rules, I apologize in advance. -
TRAILER UPDATE
Thank you for doing the leg work to help the forum out, I will be PM ing you later after I confirm with the banker.
Would you happen to know the measurement between the fenders? -

The clear width between the fenders is a touch over 82", give or take. There will be about 2" on either side for the Sling wheels to pass...provided you have stock tires and rims. I was very comfortable navigating this while demo loading mine.

Hey "V" since you are not profiting from this venture and merely passing on information I see no rules broken.
If there were a vendor here with a competitive price and style I am sure they would step up. -
I'll be placing my order for the trailer tomorrow, regardless. Hopefully, it will get here before our Florida trip. If not, looks like we will be doing an improvised "iron-butt" to Florida in the Sling!!! If @Nemesis1701 and his wife can do it...why not return the favor!?!?!?!
