Your socket will be in the mail tomorrow!
So let me get this straight...you did something to @Painter and now his socket needs replacing....so is it his arm socket, knee socket, hip socket...perhaps his finger socket...Why would you do this?

I know nothing about @Painter s sockets. I was at his place on friday and I did not touch any socket that I was not handed directly.
OK team. Have fun with that..
I can confirm that as well!

The textured black plastic on the base like I have, can that be painted or does it have to be sanded down so its smooth or is it not workable at all (all the areas the skills are on the turbo silver one pretty much just pictured)? I think the higher model slings have smooth painted pieces in place.
Like all the others, another work of art. Awesome job @Painter
I'm not of fan of "cookie cutter" looks, I love checking out this thread for all the one offs!

It can be painted without having it smooth, as long as the prep work is done. I did mine a couple winters ago and it has held up well.

That is the best shot I have ever seen of 2 people completely enjoying their ride in a Slingshot!
Fantastic! -

The smiles on shatneyman and his wife's face really tell the story about the fun we had that day on the dragon during SSITS 17 can't wait for SSITS 18.
Also. The picture doesn't do justice to what he has done to his slingshot, wow what a nice looking ride. He has done a fantastic job making it his own. -
I assume by, as long as the prep work is done @Shatneyman you mean using a good adhesion promoter as well ?

yes sir, all oils and the release agent on the plastic must be gone. So I've been told. I'm no expert but I followed painters destructions and 2 years later, no issues. My sling was the first thing I've ever painted,... well, other then my house!
-
@Shatneyman you have shown that you have a great talent for painting slings!!!

thank you sir, but don't look too close. I just followed the instructions of painter, who knows how to do it. He was with me the whole time,.. in spirit, telling me what to do
-
All I know is we both are expecting some Shatney paint on our slings
-
I’m still just waiting on schedule
