I'm drooling and the adrenaline is a flowing.
New approach for a SlingShot top...

How is it coming along @Ruptured Duck? Looking at making that trek in July to Colorado and was thinking a top would be nice But only your super-duper, highly efficient, compact, lightweight one will do. Looking forward to it!
@Texas T If you get this top and make it to Colorado, I want to check out the top if you don't mind. I love the looks, but would really like to see it and sit in a Sling with it on before I commit. Just want to make sure my height isn't an issue.

nothing like getting down to the 11th hour on this stuff. Finally locking down component
designs so production and ordering can start. Nothing like testing a tapped on fabric top to 105 to insure things are secure. Got to love duct tape....
Will say that I think I will be switching to stainless steel rather than anodized aluminum. It's going to double the weight but worth the rigidity. So it will go from 27lbs to about 40-45lbs. It might also effect pricing and will need to review.
Weather goes from 70 degrees yesterday to 49 and drizzle today. Fun, fun, fun... -
I really like the idea of using stainless steel. Weight is not an issue IMO and well worth the added cost!

Anything new on the hydraulic flip back - is that gonna be a go or no???

yes. It can be added at the time to top is ordered or can be added at a later date. If ordered with the option it will be predrilled and installed to the frame. If ordered later you will need to drill two holes through the top a-pillar top mount bracket and SS tube.
Now the correct weight rating for the lifts will need to be locked down. It might be a feature added not long after realease of the top. I personally like it as as assist lift meaning it's counter balanced and with very little effort lifts up and is held in place rather than a spring loaded approach that can have a shock load effect and causes bouncing when hitting stops. -

That let's @Bill Martin out on the install then if he has to use a drill motor.
-
@Bill Martin would get a pre-drilled version. Have to make it simple for the shark.

The engineer has been shot. No more development work is being done. Moving to purchasing and assembly. Do have some long lead times on certain components.
