No issues with rear end since swingarm recall. I have not touched a bolt back there and the bolt locations (where spec'ed to) is still marked in white. Started hearing a unusual sound back there before I put SS up for winter. Rode yesterday for about 20 mi. and noise came back. No noise going down my drive(gravel), did not hear noise for about 5/8 mi. Pretty loud when slow going. Came home, drove up drive and still making noise. Stopped, turned around, and drove back down hill for neighbor to hear. Noise barely heard. Sounds like a box of rocks but as you can read not doing all the time. Tried to find all forum videos on bearing issue but all seem to be void. Anyone heard of issues since swingarm recall? I have not seen anything on forum. Checked belt, pully, and rear tire lug nuts, all seem to be OK.
Rear Wheel Bearing ?

I have not heard of any problems since the recall. I still carry a spare set of bearings with me in the Slingshot compartment every where that I go. The bearing problems mostly sounded like a cracking noise. Back before the recall we were pulling the rear axle every 5,000 miles or so and greasing. A lot of people had problems any where from 6,000 to 12,000 miles. We had just had the axle and bearings replaced about 3 months before the recall but the dealer still did the recall. I have not had any problems since, 34,000 and 103,00 miles on each Slingshot.

Wash your belt. I had a clicking sound and never thought it was the belt. Washed it and sound went away. Worth a try.
-
I had that clicking noise and the dealer changed out the bearing. That fixed it.

Trying to decide whether to tackle this or let dealer fix. I'm by no means a mechanic but I have a neighbor who is excellent at all this kind of repair. I do not have a repair manual. Does anyone have a PDF of this or printed/computer info on this repair? Have cleaned belt and checked rear tire lug nuts. Nothing found.
THANKS

To replace the bearings you will have to have the right tools. (Bearing pullers) Just to pull axle and inspect and grease the bearings you will need to have access to a torque wrench (250 ft. lbs.) and a 41 mm socket for the 2015 -2019 axle nut.

Gerald, I have the torque wrench and got a 41mm socket when I bought SS due to bearing issues. My neighbor has all kind of tools including bearing pullers. Would just like to see what it is we would be doing. Not 100% that it is bearing but fairly sure. Know how to take off and adjust belt. Question as I have not heard of a bearing failure since recalls. Course mine would be the one's that fail.....

Frank, I have one of these in USB format although not from this seller. It has proven to be very useful many times over. This seller offers in both USB or CD format. incredible price with only one left. On EBay, well worth it!

so I found this but the manual only shows how to replace the bearings with the RED arrow, the BLUE arrow pointing to the other bearings the manual doesn't show how to remove em at all.....not sure which bearings your looking to replace or maybe your looking to replace em all
-
Think it is the bearings with blue arrows but not 100% sure. Thanks for the picture and info.
