For all of us worrying about exhaust fumes, rear bags, fenders of various sizes, this design might well be the perfect solution! I'll be adding one of Welter's products while in the Smokies. Jeff is one talented guy.

I just can't believe $1300-$1600 for exhaust on SS. That is without a header too!
-
The sound(not too load like the Alpha) caught my attention and of course now i have a couple questions.
Any possible issues with the exhaust heat/fume hitting the tire?
Next is not related to this exhaust but more of a general question, can someone with a N/A engine buy the 2.5 and be future proofed in case one is conned in the future into going boosted?

I love the way you say "conned" like one of the Boost Yokel Gang is going to reach into your wallet and talk you into trading your credit card in for a few dollar bills....

Hey you never know what can happen after the second cup of coffee.......

A turn down should fix any heat issues if running a wider tire. I see it as a no issue to worry about! May include it in each kit as your choice.
-
A turn OUT (towards drivers side) would be better. A turn down would kick up even more dust/dirt onto the rear wheel area. JMHO

Great to hear, now does anyone have any idea on the whole 2.5"on a N/A Sling?

Good point and do 90° turns not jive well with exhaust? Is it because it causes more restriction?
I only ask because I would have loved to see 2 pipes exit the rear... One like you said Larry, to the driver's side and the other to the passenger side... I don't know... Something different...

Jeff, I purchased your 2.5 dual exhaust from Slingshot Only during there year end sale for my 2017 SLR. I'm running a F4+3 and a wing. I took it down to Florida and put a couple of hundred miles on it mid January. Had the exhaust fume issues that others had posted about.
I knew this was possible going in so I'm not complaining. I did make a similar change to mine. It's a little louder than I wanted. Just asking your advice about a baffle/muffler to quite it down a little. I am putting a SC on at some time so I don't want to bog it down neither.
I'm planning on putting my dual exhaust tips back on for this summer when I go back to the stock windshield. Love the look and sound. -
If you have a 2 1/2 inch system then the inserts they came with your system should be
1 3/4 " diameter baffles. Fitted for boosted applications. Naturally aspirated baffles should be 1 1/2" diameter. Anything larger than that and it is actually becoming a megaphone as those sizes will flow with the pipe backbone will flow thus they're not a restriction. They simply make the mufflers on the back do their job. Running no baffles at all is without a question acting a a megaphone! -
The flow difference between straight and 45° turn down at the tip of any exhaust system is going to be undetectable on anybody's dyno! IMO Without a question that's overthinking it!

2.5 on the N/A until you get our supercharger kit is fine.

@Jeff Welter any chance we can get a shot from the bottom looking up at the underside of the Sling with this exhaust installed? Also, a side shot level with the bottom of the Sling would be awesome!!

Superchargers need at least a 2.5" exhaust system for entry to mid level tunes
