I can’t believe I lost my gas cap. It seams like everyone is out. Does anyone have one for sale?

And if you prefer a locking cap...

This gas cap reportedly fits the Slingshot and costs under $6 if you have Amazon prime.

I bought one as a spare, but haven't actually test-fit it.

I'm so BAD with gas caps I have a nice one on the Slingshot and keep an OEM gas cap in the luggage compartment. Just in case.

yep - I got one of these arnold caps - I test fitted it and it fits perfect. Now it sits in the glove box just in case I mess up
Of course I suspect that by simply having it I will most likely never need it - - one of those murphy law things except backward
Edit - just was looking at my amazon and I ordered this cap in April of this year - - considering how 2020 has been going I am surprised I haven't needed it

Ever thought about putting a tether on it?

This is a very old recommendation, but it works, put the removed gas cap on the driver's seat.

Yes lost mine a year ago. So now I do what another member said. every time I go to fill up I put the gas cap on my seat.

I will say that it pleases me that the fuel system is not one of those sealed systems where it throws codes if you leave the gas cap off. Only reason why I bought the spare for the glove box was because this last April I pulled into my usual gas station only to discover that all the pumps were offline, I jumped back in the drivers seat and went about 4 more blocks down the highway to the next station and when I got out to put gas in the cap was still sitting on the deck by the roll hoop where I had set it - - I was very lucky it was still there and took it as a sign that a backup cap was worth the $10 or less - - - - was also very happy not to have to see any codes
-
I found that a 5 gallon gas can cap fits. I have one in the storage compartment just in case I have a senior moment.

Yep! Here's what I did - My attempt at a tethered gas cap. The cable ties that I placed below the tether ring tends to sometimes slide down the gas cap length, but I just occasionally reposition it back up near the top. It's now done its job for around 2.5 years/25,000 miles.

Join the club. I drove off with mine sitting on the sling uninstalled. Blame it on the pretty girl that caused such a distraction! A good idea that's inexpensive is to go to Lowes and pick up one of these. It's made for a lawn mower but fits like a glove. I keep it in my storage compartment for one of those "Oh-crap" moments. Learned it here.

That's her! I remember that smile, except it was more like a "are you kidding me" kind of laugh.
