I do appreciate your input and already on your website looking at new clutches.....quick question, i see you have track and street clutch disc....now im never on the track BUT i do admit i drive it hard and aggressive when it calls for it, so would street disc still be the better option

This sounds just like the clutch switch that I had to get replaced a month ago. Once it was replaced, all is well.

Informative thread about the clutch switch:

Not really, he said he can start it with the clutch pressed in, it's just engaging right away. If it was the switch, then the starter wouldn't engage.

I replaced the clutch in my first SS and a friends, both with help. I replaced the clutch on my 17 and Doc’s 18/19 about a month ago with help from Boomer and Doc&Ruby. Doc’s worked great but mine would not fully release.
We both put in new slave cylinders, flywheels, and high performance clutches. I bled it with a Mighty Vac for over an hour. Still wouldn’t release. I put in a new master cylinder and bled it again for an hour and left vacuum on it overnight. Still wouldn’t fully release. Got a borescope and verified the slave cylinder was working. Finally had to pull the engine again. Found out the clutch disc has an unnoticeable cup in it and it won’t fully release. New clutch disc coming in today and I will put it back together again.
Have to say though, I drove about 30-40 miles total with the new clutch (started in gear and would barely move while starting) and the clutch feels fantastic!!! Once I get the new disc in I think I will be buying a lot of new rear tires! -

Stay with the street disc, it is the easiest engaging aftermarket clutch we have driven on these, but holds all the power you are going to give a stock engine, no problem.

I agree - Had the race clutch and first gear was a bear!
Been running the street clutch and I love it!

Damn I still wish I were closer! The engine has to come out to replace the clutch! SMH

This was that "Uh oh something is wrong" moment......dont ask me why i took my seatbelt off , i just knew the exit was close and maybe i would have resorted to Fred Flintstone and used my left leg for some more power lmao hey it might have worked......its in neutral and im just coasting trying to make it off the highway......
-
It’s fortuitous that the exit was there - LOTS of traffic...

......and I was in the left lane when i first noticed an issue , then moved to the middle lane and it got worse then moved all the way over , went to the shoulder but realized it would slow me down so stayed in the right lane.....broken down b4 on bikes and i learned the No 1 rule is Stay Cool Do Not Panic

Got in there with the scope see rust and most importantly heard that sound again when my son spun the back wheel while it was in gear.....
-
Oh my there goes that sound, shift into gear and spun the back wheel, listen at the 17-18 second mark you hear that sound, sends shivers down my back
-

Changing the clutch does require removing the engine. That sounds bad, but it is really not that difficult on the Slingshot.
So my next question is besides removing the battery, exhaust, radiator, hoses, connectors, plugs, is there anything else i should know and exactly where would i disconnect the engine from to lift it out, end of the shaft rod ??? Wouldn't happen to have a HOW TO REMOVE YOUR ENGINE thread in this forum, would you.......?
..... is the transmission coming out with it ?

Take lots of pictures -

I surely will, i always believe maybe my pics can help someone like others on here whos pics have helped me.....passing the love along
