I was a history major in college and I have no doubt that history is being rewritten in the name of political correctness and/or wanting to hide from reality, but - - I still want to know which History book bigdog is talking about - - - calling slaves guest workers would seem to me to diminish the plight of slaves and that would be just the opposite of how I the left normally would want to rewrite things

so I am still waiting, I want to see this History book

I have to agree - doesn't make much sense to me - But they have been working diligently to remove confederate statues in hope that no one would realize most all of them were Democrats and mostly responsible for what was going on. So nothing would surprise me.

There is a HUGE difference between "workers" and "guest workers." One would infer that a guest worker was free to leave anytime they wanted... 🤔

worker implies....they are getting paid.....they were guests of the plantation owners....they had free room and board....

rewriting history doesn’t help anyone...... it’s an agenda to brainwash our kids.....To make them think socialism/communism is normal and we should embrace it with open arms...give up your guns and we’ll feed you... your last meal.....

"guest worker" has a very specific meaning - it is a term used to specifically talk about immigrants from other countries (usually Mexico) who are given a pass to legally enter the United States to work and to get paid for that work.

worker and "guest worker" are not the same thing and a book calling slaves workers is not the same as a book calling them "guest workers"

the problem is not the word "worker" - - slaves were "workers" they did slave labor and that is "work" I disagree with a book using that term and not mentioning the slave part, but you said the word "guest" and you said the book called them "Guest workers"

they were not in any way "guests", someone you claim ownership over and hold as a prisoner is not a guest - and you saying that there are history books that used the word "guest" in anyway to describe slaves would seem to have been untrue

so I guess the big question now is will you admit that you misspoke or will you be true to how you always are and continue to try to justify your error??

So tell me - - - why is it that you can never admit when you make a mistake like this? - - in all of the time I have been here You have never admitted making an error or being incorrect - - - - why is that? - - - - seriously how hard is it for you to simply say "I'm sorry, I should not have said the book called them guests"?
